Practice is meaningless to an extent, if Rosberg wanted to go fastest in P3 he could have, the same applies to quite a few drivers. It's 6-3 to Hamilton in the head to head quali battle, it could be 5-4 if Rosberg had pushed a bit more to get into Q3 in Germany but Hamilton has got into Q3 at every weekend so far this year and last year.

EDIT: Just found this which shows the average qualifying position this season.
Why do you think Rosberg would have beaten Hamilton in Germany? Hamilton was ahead in Q1 and Q2 and found a lot of time in Q3.

Anyway will be interesting to see if Mercedes being strong in first sector in qualifying can translate into the race to keep them ahead. I wonder though if it is just different KERS usage through the lap than their rivals. Well done also on Lewis getting pole, hoped he would pull it off in Q3 and he managed to. Strong run he has been on recently compared to his teammate in qualifying.

Bit new to F1?
This is what will happen...Lewis doesn't fight Blondie who simply waltzes past and off into the distance for another EPIC OMG BEST EVAR victory. The commentators are already dusting off the emergency (Racecar is Racecar) jokes and bottom-barrel quips about how they probably once met the likes of Hunt & Fittipaldi when rat-arsed in some dive bar next to track about thirty years ago...

...although we shouldn't complain too loudly, because you know, there's only another FOUR weeks before Spa!

Looks like someone hit JGreens in the head, quick someone get emergency crews to help stop the melodrama.

Also I think it would be best if everyone save his post. Oh and who commentates the race as you watch it, a couple of vagabonds with dreams of grandeur like your predictions?

Well, prepare to be amazed or whatever, because, THANKFULLY, my manager has got me down for working through 90% of the race, so all I get to see - hopefully - is someone like Kimi or Alonso winning, although I'd especially love to see Webber win and watch him copy that annoying finger jab whilst shouting Aussie profanities down the radio.

Lewis on pole, was not expecting that, but he seems to have a habit of having a car that's okay/bad in all the FP sessions and then somehow setting a blistering lap come qualifying. Don't think he can hold it for the race, but it'd be nice if he could. I truthfully want to see a Grosjean victory, which might be a possibility. Overall, quite an exciting qualifying. I'll be missing the race tomorrow unfortunately, first race I won't watch live since the last race of the 2011 season (that's the 29 race streak, woohoo, more consistent than Kimi)

I thought Hamilton would probably beat him in Germany, what I was saying in my reply was that even if Rosberg got through to Q3 and beat Hamilton then Hamilton would still have a better 2013 qualifying record.

Like I said, Hamilton knows something about this track that others don't  I didn't see the lap itself yet, onboard wasn't shown in the live feed, but the numbers are quite good.

I hope he can hold up Vettel for long enough to have Grosjean catch up. Unless something goes terribly wrong, Vettel, Grosjean and Alonso should be up in the podium tomorrow.

What about China, Germany, Bahrain and Canada as well?
Wait so the other three poles you had issue with...I don't get you at all, so you don't like Vettel and now you don't like Lewis either?
Unfortunately I wasn't active on the forum before this season to prove this but I never liked Hamilton. I think I said it before, I don't like Saturday drivers in general.

Australia: Rosberg caught out by the weather
Malaysia: ^^^
China: Robserg had it in the bag but made a mistake in the final corner
Bahrain: Rosberg
Spain: Rosberg
Monaco: Rosberg
Canada: Hamilton
Silverstone: Hamilton
Germany: We'll never know

And that's just qualifying. As far as I'm concerned, it was 6-2 before today's qualifying and it's 6-3 now.

I'd agree practice is meaningless with most teams but with Merc this season it's been pretty consistent as far as I can remember. Every weekend where Rosberg was finishing ahead of everybody in practice he ended up putting it on pole, which wasn't the case this GP was it?

He's one of those fans of a driver (Rosberg) that hates the team mate for some reason.
I'm also a 'fan' of Raikkonen, Webber, Grosjean, Massa, Sutil and Hulkenburg. I also don't hate "the teammate".

I think a lot of Schumacher fans now support Rosberg because they have the idea that Lewis pushed their hero out of the sport.
Not really. I am a Schumacher fan, and he does have to do with me liking Rosberg but it has nothing to do with Hamilton. I didn't take Schumacher seriously in 2010 and 2011 so I wasn't sure how good Rosberg was in comparison, but seeing up keep up in 2012 was amazing. Especially since, as I've said many times before, Schumacher was the best driver of 2012 IMO given the piece of junk he had to drive, his ~10 retirements + multiple screwjobs from the stewards.

Poor Webber probably can't wait for the summer break.
Probably can't wait until he's done with RB. I laughed when Croft was saying "it's been happening to him all season", because I remember it happening in previous seasons as well. I'm not saying they sabotage his car but it's unbelievable that they haven't found a fix for it yet.

Kimi being Kimi....

If I was making an F1 game I'd probably code it so that Webber loses his KERS each race. Also have radio commentary informing you that your team mate (Webber) has lost his KERS.

Nice stuff from Lewis again, making Rosberg look like Jenson Button lately.

Great performance by Lewis today - if only there was a realistic chance of him winning the race, but I can't see that happening unfortunately.

Out of all the tracks I actually see Lewis having a chance here.

It was once said to be like Monaco without the buildings for a reason. He may be able to regulate the pace a little.

What happened to those plans to re-design the Hungaroring a year ago?

They said the same thing in the mid-1990s...please hold.

The old story is that various other people own the infield and surrounding land, so getting unanimity for any circuit re-design would be quite difficult.

Did you not watch Quali, or do you not realize that this is Hunagroring? Webber wont win, but I think Grosjean might. I'm very fearful of the start though of this GP. I'm happy for Grosjean I just hope he doesn't do his aggressive squeeze job that may cause a wreck....or him actually causing a wreck.

I agree with others, if there is any track on the Calender other than Canada for him to just win it. This would be the track, also with it being hard to pass and somewhat run a bit slow like Monaco, it isn't that far fetched.

So you'd call guys like Hamilton and Vettel Saturday drivers...well this is going to be ridiculous. I did say you exaggerate things, and your lack of depth on what goes on in F1 shows.

Lewis was faster in China, Quali and Race go look it up because you really have no idea what the hell you are talking about. Germany we do know if you want to pretend based on the bias you said you have, that is your hang up.

Bahrain Nico has the pace in Quali but on race day, Hamilton had the better set up and pace thus finished ahead of Nico.

Germany we do know, Nico was slow all race long and even held up his team mate due to different strategy and pace. Lewis even showed how fast he was when he put together that pole lap and took down an obviously fast Vettel when you look at the race. Also I'm not sure you're aware of this but Lewis is ahead of Nico in points:dunce:.

And even if we give Nico the points he should have gotten in Malaysia Lewis would still be ahead 96 to Rosberg's 87.
