Didn't know Milka Duno graduated from ARCA :sly:

Is Hill a start and park entry?

Danica is lucky more cars didn't show up to attempt to qualify. Not being in one of the fastest 36 cars, she got in based on owner's points from last season. Stewart bought someone's points from last season to use for her team, which gave her 42nd place in owner's points rankings. Of the cars that got in on owner's points instead of speed (37th through 43rd place qualifiers), she had the 2nd lowest ranking, trailing only Scott Riggs (56th in last season's owner's points).

Had two more drivers attempted to make the race that could bring an owner's points ranking better than 42nd place from last season, she wouldn't have even qualified for the race in Phoenix. Luckily for her, only 43 teams made the trip out west, so she was guaranteed a starting spot based on supply and demand alone.

Since they use last year's final points standings for the first five three races of this season, it's entirely possible she could miss one of the next three races if enough cars come out to qualify, and she drives this slowly again (outside the top 36 in speed alone).

After the first five three races, when they start setting the 37th through 43rd starting spots based on this year's owner's points, it's going to be a lot harder for her to miss a race, since she got a lot of points at Daytona compared to most other ~30-35th place teams.

The Las Vegas entry list is out. There are 44 cars trying to make the race, so one car will go home.

If Scott Speed qualifies with a top 36 time, Mike Bliss qualifies with a top 36 time, and Danica Patrick does not qualify with a top 36 time, Danica becomes the only car to miss the race.

Last week at Phoenix, Scott Speed qualified 28th, Mike Bliss qualified 35th, and Danica Patrick qualified 40th fastest. If this were to happen this way again this week, Danica would go home.

Yeah I can't remember her name either. FOX and ESPN kept talking about this woman but I assumed that she was just a marketing ploy.

Even if Danica doesn't qualify her way into the race, Stewart will just buy a spot from one of the "start and park" teams so she can race Sunday. :yuck:

Chevy would flip their lid, as they currently have no start and park teams in Cup.
The real winner on Friday if this all happens would be Tommy Baldwin. After getting screwed for an entire year and basically being SHR's slave with the 10 car........ now he'd have them by the balls. I doubt we won't see Danica on Sunday but expect SHR to spend a good chunk of change to put her in the 36.

Funny thing is, I don't care for any of them. 2 of them are brats (so they deserve each other) and the other...I just never cared for him, nothing special in my eyes.

I met Stenhouse the week before the Kentucky race. Harvick made an appearance at a distributing plant my dad's cousin works at. So after seeing him, we went to Sam's Club afterwards. Stenhouse just happened to be signing there at the time, so I got a chance to meet him, too. Seemed like a nice guy. Apprently Keselowski also was there earlier signing, but we had missed him. Would have been weird to meet both the Nationwide and Cup champs the same day. Also met Bobby Labonte a couple days before when the Reds did their Nascar night. Now Bobby is a class act. 👍

Nicest drive I met was Johnson.. By far the nicest guy. Rowdy is actually a cool guy too. Dale Jr. Was very laid back and we talked for a few minutes. Kenny Wallace and Kyle Petty are both awesome funny guys. I've met Harvick on several occasions and he is kinda rushy I guess you could say...

Jeff Gordon kinda, he would only shake hands. Met Austin and Ty Dillon.. Elliot Sadler, Ron Hornaday, Ricky Carmichael (think I spelled it right) and a few other odds and ends

Wait isn't she full season in the 10?

One good thing She has going for her is she has been decent at Vegas but that was in nationwide too.

Hey, don't talk bad about Timmy Hill, I actually went to elementary school with him (Even though he was two years older then me and I had no interaction with him whatsoever).

A friend of mine is a huge fan of him, I think Timmy is a nice guy though.

UPDATE: Select Sprint Cup Series races will be shown on the new Fox Sports 1 channel starting in 2015, the network announced. Fox Sports Media Group has the rights to [the season's first] 13 races, and the news release Tuesday did not indicate which of those races will move from network television to cable. NASCAR officials confirmed when the Fox 2015-2022 deal was announced last October that the Daytona 500 will remain on network television. Speed shows such as NASCAR RaceDay, NASCAR Victory Lane and Race Hub will be added to the Fox Sports 1 lineup. Race Hub, typically a 6:00pm/et show on Speed, will move to midday.(Sporting News)(3-6-2013)

Not happy about this at all, as someone with over-the-air only I will get to watch even fewer races.:yuck:👎👎

I really wish some of these organizations(definitely not only NASCAR) would realize that not everyone has cable and would at least live stream events unrestricted if they are going to broadcast them on pay channels.

[/rant]

Really want some UK Nascar news for 2015's broadcast.

I like Premier Sports coverage but would be extremely better with a broadcaster willing to an HD stream in the UK whether pay-per-view or not.

I've got ten bucks says that by 2017, what was once Speedvision will be just a full-fledged ESPN ripoff, AKA 20 hours of NFL, 2 for NBA, 1:30 for baseball, 30 minutes for hockey, then a very mention of anything not those.

*sigh* not only is it one of the few channels I watch, but they decide to kill it around my birthday too. You suck, FOX.

Finally sat down and watched the race. Pretty good one. No complaints, really. Even the commercials seemed pared back compared to Daytona.

If it were an ESPN ripoff, it would be 11 hours each of NBA and NFL with a brief mention of all other sports.

Saw this coming a mile away. Get ready to have commercial-riddle races being pre-empted by just about everything.

Saw this coming a mile away.

I've been dreading it since they moves the 125's and All-Star race to SPEED years back.

Get ready to have commercial-riddle races being pre-empted by just about everything.

With Fox's giant deal(2.4billion over 8 years) I doubt that any races will be pre-empted.
