Do you know anything about NASCAR apart what other people tell you?

It's called bump drafting and is completely different than trying to take someone out.
Im not an expert, im someone who watches it. I know in NASCAR they do bump drafting but thats done when the car behind is right behind him, bumper to bumper. What happened was front right to rear left and bang you got a tap and crash from my view.

I watch most sports, f1, motogp,
Btcc, dtm etc and you get used to whats what.

As Brad Keselowski was moving over to protect position, and the gap closed too quickly. At 200mph gaps close up quicker than the human brain can anticipate sometimes.

A rally in ireland (I think) some spectators were killed.

Ah, that does sound familiar... not entirely sure though, but there is a chance that happened.

Think back to the days of Group B, I can't remember who was driving but an RS200 went flying into a crowd of spectators and killed dozens.

You cannot stop things like this from happening. Unless, you banned the sport, which is what happened to Group B. Now I'm in no way implying NASCAR should be banned, because it shouldn't, I'm just making the comparison.

Because all wrecks happen intentionally like that was.....

It still happened without drafting, that's the point. Nearing superspeedways won't do anything. May as well just shut down motorsports and watch them play gt5
We can also go through the dozens of times the nns has out cars on the fence, like kesselowski did some years back in California. Or truex did a couple of times, etc. Its nothing new.

Im not saying he was bump drafting or defending or anything - im just saying that NASCAR has become silly. Like Stoner talking about Motogp being a puppet show. Is NASCAR the same? Just lifes being played around for people to watch and enjoy?

Edit: ^^^

I haven't heard anything about injuries last week, but in the WRC's first rally this season, Monte Carlo, a stage was cancelled after spectators were injured.

That sounds like that was it. A little off on my times...

Honestly there is no way to make the sport totally safe. Name me a safety measure and I can name a effect of it or counter how it won't work 100% the time.

Not to bring up another motorsport, but I am kind of reminded of a vicious crash that happened in the (then) Indy Racing League at Charlotte which resulted in some wrecked car parts found their way into the grandstands. I extend my best wishes and deepest thoughts to those fans who got hurt from the brutal wreckage. You want to see hard racing and good racing. But at the same time, you don't want the action to end up reaching out to the fans. These incidents are purely unfortunate. Best thing is that this didn't get much worse- like 1955 24 Hours of Le Mans worse.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the fans affected from this incident.

Name me one sport (namely any motorsport for that matter) that isn't that in a nutshell.

That's pretty much all sports.

Not sure all sports are peoples lifes being thrown at fences.

BTCC. Drivers lifes are at risk, not saying any sport the driver is always safe, im saying NASCAR is less safe in terms of safety equipment and protecting drivers and fans. It seems in Europe they go to greater lengths to help cut those risks down, even if it involves more money or development.

Literally, no.

But ever since ancient times people have been putting their bodies on the line for others amusement(We have stopped using lions at least). There is a reason chess isn't a major draw, there isn't really any risk.

By the way, I can't post it due to the curse word in the title, but look up the video "F[expletive] you ESPN" on Youtube to see what ESPN really cares about.
And he's the SPEED Centr host, Furi. Also announces for TNT Cup races.

And without implementing new safety measures they work 0% of the time.

The catch fencing failed here. The tire did not go over the fence, it went through the fence. The engine got through the fence with other large parts of the car. Not acceptable.

Starting tomorrow expect there to be changes.

Depends. People can get huge excitement from shop lifting. Yet that isnt fun to watch. I dont find NASCAR a fun sport. I think its too dangerous, but if people get a rush from watching people put their lifes at risk in horrible crashes then keep on watching.

F1. Indycar. All dangerous as well. Part of motorsport is danger, we watch, cheer, and cower at the spectacle. Part of the danger gives the thrill. But no-one ever wants to see people seriously hurt.
