True enough, but nobody but JR would keep his ride at HMS as long as he has with his record and so many seem to think he is so good (Jr Nation). Like I said, not a fan of Logano and I hope the captain doesn't keep him around unless he starts putting up some numbers.

Rick Hendrick isn't going to part ways with a driver that is selling tens of millions of dollars worth of merchandise every season, especially while he's running near the front most weeks and making the Chase. I'm sure Rick would like to see more wins, but it's not like Junior is going the wrong way right now.

They both have one race win at a full scheduled race distance. Logano won at Pocono last year, and Earnhardt won at Michigan last year. Other than that, Logano lucked into a rain-shortened win at NH while Junior would have won the Coke 600 on fuel mileage in 2011 had it been shortened by even half of a lap.

As for head-to-head stats since the start of 2009, Junior has 21 top-5s and 49 top-10s to Logano's 16 top-5s and 41 top-10s. Logano has led 340 total laps since 2009, while Junior led 358 just last season, and 788 total laps over the same time frame. Also, Junior has started two less races.

I wouldn't blame disparity in equipment either, as Hamlin and Kyle Busch had no problems running up front and winning races while Logano was steadily running mid-pack for the last four seasons.

Well even with those numbers.. Jr only has 5 more top 5s and 8 more top tens isnt very much and thats after jr was already in cup for like 10 years or someting like that. Give Joey til he's been around as long as jr was and his numbers will be much better than that. I believe Joey was/is young and it wasnt what he thought it would be..it was a lot harder! and obviously he and denny never got along or this wouldnt be happening with them this quick. I believe Joey was not only inexperienced, but was pushed around and disheartened by his team mates and the fans hating on him. I think thats all behind him. With the support of Brad the defending champ who is also a good friend of his, and Roger Penske I believe he will gain 1000x more confidence and a lot more attention. Joey has been very fast lately, and despite anything Ive said that is really the only thing that matters because anything can happenin any race. Look at how Brad just started winning like crazy a cpl years ago. The year before that i think he was hated more than Logano is now. Since then he's won 8 times and a championship. Joey may not get there as quick but he'll be a top 10 driver by the end of this year. I believe he will make the chase and get at least 2 wins. Thats really all im hoping for anyway. Even if he doesnt make the chase I think he will have his best year in cup so far.

They're both at fault - no need for Hamlin to tap him, and no need for Joey to go fight him. That's the issue here - not driving skill, but the fact that both are at fault.

Comparing Logano's start to Dale Earnhardt Jr's start and I think you're going to have to find someone to not burst out in laughter upon mentioning that Logano is and will be a lot better than Jr. based on what he has done already.

Hey man just look at the numbers. Joey had 5 less top 5's and 8 less top 10's and 1 more win than Jr. since 2009... and thats after Jr had been in cup for like 10 years. Thats not bad. How could anyone not think Joey will put up better numbers by the time he's been around for 10 years? Its common sense. I mean its simple math. Don't get me wrong I know Jr Nation would be up in arms but the numbers speak for themselves.

Again, one of those wins was a fluke Loudon race (Logano actually spun and caused the last caution before the rain came), and Jr. has two more Chases then Logano, who has never came close to making one.

Junior was much better when he was younger. With time, he has not necessarily improved, even with the addition of two championship winning teammates. More experience and better teammates does not guarantee future success for Logano.

True. Nothing is guaranteed obviously. I do believe it will happen though. Logano only seems to be getting better and has plenty of time to do it. His finishes this year have not reflected his performance in any race. Just dumb luck after a great run every week so far.......so far

Sometimes I wish I had a favorite driver that I'd follow no matter what on Cup level, trucks are only place I have one driver I would support anywhere he went which is Justin Lofton.

Im so ready for The Rock!

I agree with DW here, Bristol is back and better then ever

http://nascar.speedtv.com/article/darrell-waltrip-thats-what-im-talkin-about-nascar-sprint-bristol

Really a shame it looked half empty. Im hoping thats because hotel and ticket prices are too high. I really cant see a problem with the racing we've had at the track Sunday.

Old Bristol was single file, ride around the bottom and bump the guy in front of you out of the way. Resurfaced variable banking bristol was ride around in a different line then the guy your racing and never get close to him. This new Bristol takes the best from both worlds and puts it together while leaving the worst behind

Well it has 160,000 seats.. And half empty is still 80,000 people... I heard people getting tickets for $50 but hotel rooms were $400 a night. I thought the race was great. Really wasn't bored watching any races so far other then Daytona.

Just realized there's a two week break from racing action before NASCAR heads to Martinsville.

(California fails to meet the definition of racing)

Yes, there appeared to be a ton of empty seats. I turned the race on just as they were firing the engines. I couldn't believe how empty the stands looked that close to the start. And they didn't fill up much more after the race was under way, either.

I don't know what the prices were for tickets BUT I had couple friends go who are on a super tight budget. They stayed about 20 mins away in Kingsport but I think they weren't too bad on price.

It was raining the morning of the race, which may have scared a few people away.

Honestly NASCAR needs to stop yabbering about coming to some deal with the hotel people and actually do it. A room should not be $400 a night. Even if NASCAR can cut it in half I guarantee you'll see more people at races. People seem to be interested in the Gen 6, that could translate into ticket sales if it wasn't for the hotel prices.

You can think the 90s for most of NASCAR prices when sport was at a high. I still remember going to a Busch race that was put on like a Cup race with amount of stuff devoted to sponsors and fans. You couldn't find hotels within 45 mins of Charlotte then either and it hasn't ever come down since which is ludacris that hotels do that but money talks.

The most I've ever paid for hotel in my life is $110 period when I stayed in New Orleans.

At least they'll be running faster so the race is over with sooner. On the subject of high hotel prices, the owners haven't realized yet that the economy is still in the bottom of the sewer and people don't have the extra money they once had.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Landon Cassill is suing his former team, BK Racing, for being deceived and not properly being paid his winnings.

Cassill is suing his former employers for what he claims is $205,000 in unpaid winnings and an undisclosed amount of money for being told in mid-January that he would not be driving for BK Racing.

“I really hated to go the legal route but at the end of the day I’m ultimately asking to be paid what I earned last season. I was excited to race for BK in 2013 and was disappointed when my contract was no renewed for this season.” – Landon Cassill in a released statement.

Cassill’s lawsuit was filed last month in a Charlotte North Carolina Superior Court. In the lawsuit, it is stated that a performance-based clause in his contract included a minimum payout of $500,000. After the season was over, his earned $355,000 of that. Cassill claims that he is still owed $145,000.

Cassill files misled by the BK Racing in terms of how they handled his dismissing. He claims they left him believing he would drive for them again this season, but was released late into the off season.

Reportedly, Ron Devine (team co-owner), sent Cassill a pay scale he was proposing for the 2013 season.

Has anyone else been noticing the great runs that James Finch's team has been having so far this year. 8th in owner points with 3 top 15's 4 races in. Their worst finish was this past weekend at 21st but that was with rookie Austin Dillion. It's looking good for a team that even Finch thought might not race this year.

Keyword: Winnings

Wut

Um ok, not sure what's funny about that. Winnings aren't always about who finished first and BK lost alot of respect from me with the move they made. I like Landon and they were shady about how they went about it down to when they let him know.
