Source? I only see speculation.

A lot goes into a decision like this but we are really pleased to have someone of the character and caliber of Mark Martin to fill in while Denny is out. Obviously we're not exactly sure how long that is going to take, but Mark's career speaks for itself and our team knows it will have the opportunity to compete for a win every week.

Smart move for all parties and hope to see Vickers land 55 full time next year. He has shown maturity while at MWR.

If Vickers is in the #55 next year, where would Martin go? Will he retire? Sign with a new team?

Wow, didn't see that coming. Naturally thought Sadler would sub for Hamlin.

Honestly think about who has most talent that was there, Sadler isn't the top and makes most sense based on Mark being good spokesperson for anyone and MWR rumors about Vickers full time where around last year.

Kinda makes sense given he already was with JGR last year in their Nationwide program (and unless I misread, is suppose to do so again this year). Seeing as he was able to squeeze out some great potential from the 55 car, I think he'll really do even more with the 11.

Mark Martin has pretty much been a teammate of almost every single big name driver save Tony Stewart.

Which probably might never happen. Chalk and cheese.

Martin's pervasive. He's been around for so long, that when he isn't in the race I feel (not rightly of course, but merely subjectively) the field isn't complete.
Same if Jeff isn't there. And a few others.

Would you consider HMS and SHR psuedo-teammates? Mark drove for HMS while Stewart was driving HMS-built cars at SHR.

To be honest I'm glad to see Mark Martin take the #11 operation on these next few weeks. Elliott hasn't quite blitzed the Nationwide Championship this season so far and when it comes to meeting Sponsorship and Team demands, Mark will probably be better off meeting those.

In hindsight, I do appreciate NASCAR's 'laissez-faire' policy towards this situation of Logano and Stewart. Tony has such a pulling power that it would've taken a lot of courage to slap a penalty on him when he didn't get anything for throwing a helmet at Matt Kenseth's car.

So does this mean we won't have to deal with the awful Aaron's commercial involving Mark and MW for a few weeks?

So now MWR has announced Mark will drive for JGR at Martinsville but return to the 55 at Texas and beyond.
Ummmm...........

I think it's funny that hamlin is pointing a gun at logano!

Read about that yesterday, sad news indeed.

Gonna try and lighten the mood here with something I found in the Funny Pic Thread.:

Irrespective if you are a Logano or Hamlin fan, Hamlin gave possibly the most noble interview from him yet.

It isn't a matter of 'Joey wrecked Hamlin' because 'Hamlin wrecked Joey' a week before, it is the way in which Joey conducted himself after the wreck.

Terrific interview by Marty Smith.
