Also.. Tony Stewart picking Robby Gordon?
Laugh it up, but Robby Gordon has won a Sprint Cup race at both Sears Point and Watkins Glen, one of only 10 drivers to have won at both race tracks in the Sprint Cup (Juan Montoya, Tony Stewart, Kyle Busch, Robby Gordon, Jeff Gordon, Geoff Bodine, Mark Martin, Ernie Irvan, Ricky Rudd, and Rusty Wallace).
Only Kyle Busch (2008), Tony Stewart (2005), Robby Gordon (2003), and Jeff Gordon (1998, 1999) won both races in the same season.
At Watkins Glen specifically, Robby Gordon has 7 career top-5 finishes, from 1997 through 2007, the last two of which came in his own underfunded one-car team.
He finished 2nd to Jimmie Johnson at Sears Point just three years ago (2010), again, in his own underfunded one-car team.
The guy might be a complete jerk, but he's a hell of a good road course driver, even in 2nd/3rd-tier equipment (see Busch, Kurt). Gordon's chance to win might have been small, but it would still be a lot higher than Papis's 0% chance this Sunday.
In Stewart's #14 car, I think Robby could bring home a top-10 pretty easily, with a 50/50 chance at a top-5.
