Well it's hard to blame people for missing the joke. By your own admission, you toot the Ford Horn quite often.

I'll be honest. I do lol. True though.

Thing is with that video, the Camaro isn't Chevys main fighter, that would be the Corvette. So at most I could only see the Camaro ZL1 being given an output of 600 at the most. It's not like the Mustang and Ford, that at the moment is their answer to everything else. I don't see the Camaro or Challenger matching with Ford's Gt500 ever. Chevy and Dodge are too busy with their real supercars.

Good for marketing, bad for the customer

"It's a good thing my car isn't as fast as it could be. Otherwise I could be treading on its bigger brother's territory or even using up precious development time. That needs to go to more important cars than mine."

True but that's how it works. This is easily seen when GM decided to make the LSA instead of putting in the LS9. I agree, I think a LS9 ZL1 would be great, but we're not GM.

It's worked just fine for Porsche for the past 15 years or so.

Check this out.

Stock '13 GT500 minus the stock exhaust, + long tube headers & slicks = 10.2 1/4 mile

Nice video R1600, wonder where they were at. Car is a crazy rocket in a straight line that's for sure.

Good lord that thing is fast. For comparison sake, the Aventador with 700hp, stupid fast shifting, and awd runs the same time.

That thing was on slicks. Even with AWD the Aventador will smoke it's tires.

Still very impressive

Imagine how fast it would be with vtec.

How fast is it with no mods?

Jesus. All that from something you can walk down to your local Ford dealer and buy for under $60k?

That thing sounded ridiculous!

My father is seriously thinking about buying one. It'd be great if I could get behind the wheel of one of these.

Pretty remarkable if you ask me. I never thought I'd say this as I'm a Chevy/Vette guy and Mustang hater but this 'Stang is not only beautifuly mean looking but has such impressive performance for that tiny amount of $$$. I hope Ford doesn't royally F the mustang look up with the next gen because they have something really special with this one. This Shelby is one of the best looking mustangs of all time in my opinion.

I love those looks but still want a ZL1, but if the Mustang were to look ugly next gen, I think I'd try and buy a GT500 2013 no matter what year it is.

This car has set a bar for Ford quite high to many people it seems, and if they ruin it with the next gen, I could see people flocking somewhere else.

If only I could win the Lotto, I would buy one of these.

Could possibly be the last of the (real) Mustangs.

This is why I wanted them to keep this gen around just a for a few more years so the 50th Anniversary would be in this gen instead on next gen...If they mess it up it might not go down well.

I agree. I'm glad i got mine when i did.

I wouldn't go that far. Besides we really don't know anything for the new one yet anyways.

Reading an article right now from the Wall Street Journal they tested the new Shelby. 1/4 mile in Atlanta the guys best was 12.22 with a trap of 119mph. Then under the specs it shows 0-60 @ 4.1 seconds and top speed @ 202mph. Maybe this guy is used to testing Prius's, Accord's and Camry's?
Edit: Never mind, I guess he tests high performance cars, RUF's, Veyron, etc.

I read it was 3.6 0-60 in several places...

I'm assuming we're talk about Dan Neil?
