Pirlo is ridiculously great. God knows who good he will be when he is 45.
I'm only an amateur, but to my untrained eye, it looked like England was either taking too long to set their shots up, or not taking long enough. The one goal they did get was timed right, but they just gave Italy too many chances to form up their defence.I have a hard time seeing England in the next round due to this result..
Plenty of times. Just in the last World Cup, it happened 4 times. In 1982, Italy advanced with 3 points (same group format, top two advance). They have to beat Uruguay and Costa Rica to go through because I don't think you can qualify with 4 points or fewer..has that happened before??
It can happen in Group D this time. If Italy beat both Uruguay and Costa Rica and England beat Costa Rica but lose to Uruguay, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place will have all won 1 game and therefore all have 3 points and if it's on H2H, each team will have beaten each other and therefore it would go on GD I guess. They have to beat Uruguay and Costa Rica to go through because I don't think you can qualify with 4 points or fewer..has that happened before??
This is what will make this group very interesting. I mean, will Costa Rica keep playing like that, or was it a one-off?I'm honestly more worried about Costa Rica at this point.
I knew it before I even opened it.
It's raining. It does not look fun out there - so hot and humid that they're positively gushing with sweat.
