Unfortunately England are just not good enough.

I loved this game and Suarez is no doubt a wonderful player despite having a troublesome way of being.

Chile eliminated Spain.
Uruguai eliminated England.

Looks like (south) american teams are stronger this year.

I hope Portugal win against USA though. :D

Uruguai eliminated England.
Not yet.

England will be out if:
Costa Rica and Italy draw
Costa Rica beat Italy AND England fail to beat Costa Rica OR Italy draw with Uruguay
Italy beat Costa Rica AND England fail to beat Costa Rica OR Uruguay draw with Italy

Now I hope Italy and Costa Rica draw so England gets knocked out.

So yeah we're screwed...

So I'm now a neutral until Croatia go out. And then I'm a neutral for all internationals period.
I didn't really plan on it. But I'd rather support a team with 23 football players rather than 23 boring automatons...who get every single thing wrong when playing.
Supporting England is a waste of time.

Gerrard was one of the worst players I saw in this tournament thus far. Did he even run full speed at any moment in this game? Plus absolute calamity on ball.

I'd rather we were spared the arduous task of watching this England team - not least the farcical defence - than hope the group results go in their favour. It's not like they'd last much longer in the knock-out rounds.

Might as well sit back and watch Costa Rica grab their own 2-1 win next Tuesday.

England had the same problems as they did against the Italians, just didn't take their chances, forced Muslera in to some good saves, happy for Rooney but they are 99% out....

Can't believe were still on 0 points, could have easily picked up 6. Italy should beat Uruguay based on what we've seen so far.

They played well against the Italians.
Not here. The comparison's not relevant.

Isn't this what everyone expected when the draw was made?....should we really be surprised??

The Italy game gave hope regardless of the loss. Costa Rica's win over Uruguay even more so, Suarez's knee injury further still.
We lost 2-1. What other team would do that?

I know the outlook was generally pessimistic when the group selection was made. But no points after two games that they should have at least held on to draw? Sub-sub-par.

The two centres backs couldn't read red book four, let alone a football game. Henderson and Gerrard, pants. Welbeck and Sterling, pants. The fullbacks, pants. Rooney was better (which wasn't hard after the last one), Sturridge didn't get a chance. Might as well play the reserves next game and see how Shaw, Wilshere, Barkley etc get on.

Just found a depressing stat, Uruguay had 2 shots on target.

That's what I mean by taking your chances, two shots by Suarez two goals and he was pretty quiet apart from that, England did have more chances and more of the ball but just didn't take them, and if you do that at any level let alone the World Cup then you could be in serious trouble...

For the last game, who could be Rooney's replacement?

Johnson and Gerrard should never wear an England shirt again.
Apart from SoccerAid.

For the last game, who could be Rooney's replacement?
It'd be Ross Barkley. But people say he's 'the new Gazza' - no he isn't. Has Barkley done anything as mad as Gazza would? Does he look like he will? No.

That's the problem with England. None of the players have any soul in them. We need to find a player who has both immense talent and a lovable character and passion. That player can then get us rocking because we love him as a person and player. Like Gazza.

But I don't know where one of those is coming from. We could be waiting a long time for someone like that.

Oh, and if Greg Dyke brings up B leagues in response to this, I will call the police. (never mind the main advocate of it have 0 points as well)

There are bigger issues than Rooney in my opinion. As good as the Premier League is, the National team is bad.

I can remember four, the two goals and the two Suarez corners that were going in.
i suppose they should have counted, bbc says england 6 on target to uruguay's 2.
