All I can remember is Bosnia kicking that ball like a placekicker trying to score a fieldgoal. And that green wall Nigeria build.

For anyone in the States- The Belgium/Russia and South Korea/Algeria games will both be on ABC. The US/Portugal game will be on ESPN.
 
Belgium-Russia should be good, South Korea-Algeria sounds boring, USA-Portugal looks like an easy win for Portugal on paper but we have seen a few upsets already this year...

Belgium 0-0 Russia, not a great game, both keepers had to make good saves, Russia perhaps should've had a penalty...
 
Belgium needs to step up their game otherwise Russia might steal the 3 points.

Frustration and hopeless passes are creeping into the game.

Why does Wilmots seem intent on using Origi as a sub? Surely Dembele, Januzaj, maybe even Chadli could do as he does.

I picked a perfect time to start watching again because Belgium scored right after I came back upstairs.

I haven't seen a single replay of what happened prior to the goal. 2 Russians on the ground..

But 1 thing is safe to say. Belgium will not win the WC this year. 2 poorly played matches. But still, they have some serious potential for the next couple of years.
 
Don't know where RTÉ are getting there phonetic spellings of the players names but I've noticed a lot of mispronounciations.

Last night the kept calling Emenike 'Emenik' when as far as I know the 'e' on the end is pronounced.

Today they keep calling Akinfeev 'Akinfeuve' and Hazard 'Hazar'.

At least it's HD.

One of the ESPN analysts (who isn't American; I believe that it was Rudd Van Nistelrooy) thinks that the US might have the advantage due to having experience with playing on the heat. I'm not buying it until the US/Portugal game starts, and that is still over 4 hours away. In the meantime, all eyes shift to the second game of the day- South Korea/Algeria.

Isn't that how it's pronounced though? Or Azar? The latter is how many of Chelsea club officials pronounce it.
 
It's pronounced "Hazaar". The second "a" is a long one, and the "d" is not pronounced.
