@Famine I was thinking why have you highlighted 3 teams in red, then upon closer inspection I see Argentina is a different colour . My poor eyes always tricking me :(

Ghana and German draw?

MURICA!

Only if you beat Portugal!

We can draw the rest of the way and still advance.

It would be better to try and win against Portugal, however

And make Ronaldo cry again. That would be great!

Great performance by Ghana, not so great for ze Germans. I think this WC will show some unexpected results. And in the end the Germans still win.

Crucial 90 minutes for Bosnia in their first ever meeting with Nigeria. Anything less than a draw for them would be a disappointment, and an early exit.

@ the GTP members from England; did David Cameron jinx the England squad again? :D

No jinxing, we are just rubbish. Great players don't make a great team and all that.

Unofficial score: 1-1
Referee's score: 1-0 To Nigeria

And as replays show, the assister's play before that goal was definitely worth a foul.

TBH I feel there's pro-Nigeria bias going on among the referees, and I don't like it.

You are aware of the history of that jinx no? Cameron gives his message of support and England is out of the first round for the first time since '58

I think the reason that we went out in the first round in 1958 was because our squad was decimated a few months before in the Munich Air Disaster. A lot of great players died then like Duncan Edwards and Mark Jones. However, 1958 was the first and only time that Wales (managed by Jimmy Murphy who was also interim manager of Manchester United whilst Sir Matt Busby recovered) were in the World Cup. This story is told in a film called United which stars David Tennant and documents the disaster very well (apart from a couple of inconsistencies).

It has been a good game so far this. Only bad thing was that disallowed goal, poor Bosnia

Yup but i'm wondering how the english perceive 'the jinx' as it was mentioned before the world cup started, but not now that they are already out ;)

Agreed, as he clipped the player.
Fixed:

Unofficial score: 1-0 to Bosnia
Referee's score: 1-0 To Nigeria

It is this kind of incompetence that may cost Bosnia any hope on the round of 16 :grumpy:

Your doing it wrong!

This is great news for the US.

Bosnia are putting up a poor show today. The final passes almost all fail and when they get the ball in front of the goal they don't know what to do with it.

Nigeria is pretty much the same except they did get a couple of shots between the posts.

And the referee has most likely lead his last WC match. Inconsistent, at least one Bosnian should have been sent off. And he should have acted a lot sooner on the stalling of Nigeria.

Edit!

Nigeria must also have acting class in their training program. Cringe worthy.

Well done FIFA, you cheated Bosnia out of victory
Bosnia becomes the 5th nation to be knocked out, and the first to be cheated out

And Bosnia are out.

I still think the score should have been flipped to 1-0 Bosnia. That disallowed goal didn't look offsides at all, and Nigeria's goal should have been disallowed due to a foul. Oh well, it is what it is. Bosnia is eliminated and Nigeria wins 1-0.

They should have brought Misimovic off at half time after seeing how many errors he made later in the game, though Bosnia really should have had the lead early on.

Seeing them run out of steam at the end after the fight they put up was tough to watch. The questionable refereeing certainly didn't help matters either.

I don't understand why they insist on having referees from the four corners of the world in the first place.

Sack the clowns from New Zealand, Japan, and the rest if them, and employ the same referees that officiate the Champions/Europa League, and the top European championships. They won't be perfect either but I'm sure they'll do better than this.

Maybe I should complain about it, but Nigeria are my sweepstake team.
So, instead:

Vincent Enyeama.

Copy/paste fail - cheers :D

Bit bummed that Bosnia are out. They had such a good, high-scoring qualification round that to go out with only 1 scored is surprisingly harsh - only van Persie scored more than Dzeko in European qualy. Hope they make Iran pay with a seven goal haul :D

Seeing how his feet were on backwards against Nigeria I really doubt it. Did he even had 1 shot on target?

He had a few, obviously the goal that was wrongfully disallowed, he also forced the keeper into one or two good saves.
