When he does things like that, you are just not surprised. 20 yard curlers are his version of a two yard tap in.

Feel sorry for Iran, they were brilliant, Argentina are through to the knockouts..

Great goal from Messi! I feel for Iran; they held on for so long only to lose it in stoppage time.

Found something interesting earlier, the World Cup goals by club

Bayern Munich 8
Man United 5
Barcelona 5
Real Madrid 4
Liverpool 3
Pachua 3

Germany-Ghana on in a bit...

Nice anti-football from Iran. Glad they received no points after they basically turtled in their defensive zone for the whole game.

Germans play their 101st World Cup game tonight, more than any other nation....

I used to think like you, back when Chelsea eliminhated Barcelona in their Champions League winning campaign.

I do believe fouling all the time is anti-football, but defending all the time isn't really anti-football, it's just a fair tactic that Argentina couldn't exploit, unsurprisingly, as it's harder to penetrate through a 11-men defense than a normal defense, which Argentina can't even properly play against.

Horrible match. The media, as always, sprouts out things like "Romero man of the match", and apparently he has turned into a fantastic goalkeeper when he is the same as always, and as any other player, ocasionally has a good game, but in no way that makes him the player they try to portray.

And, how could we forget, "ARGENTINA IS GOING TO WIN THE WORLD CUP" -> "🤬 PLAYERS, GOOD FOR NOTHING" -> "YESSS, THANK YOU MESSI, ARGENTINA 2014 WORLD CUP WINNERS". Absolutely annoying.

What has surprised me so far is that no team looks good enough to win it, in 2010 Holland, Germany, Spain and Uruguay seemed to stand out from the rest.

Germany 0-0 Ghana half time, not a great game so far...

If this 0-0 score holds and the game ends as a draw, Group G will be very interesting depending on how the U.S. vs. Portugal game turns out tomorrow.
EDIT: Right after I posted this, Germany takes the lead 1-0.

First time Germany have scored against Ghana before the hour mark. They've only met twice before, but this makes it Germany's 8th goal against Ghanaians.

Edit: Andre Ayew equalises with a great header. This game is finally starting to come to life. 👍

And Gyan puts Ghana infront!

1-2 Gyan!!!!

How are Germany's chances, guys?
Asamoah Gyan is ****ing back, y'all.

Well, how about this? And here I was already thinking Ghana was certainly out after losing to 'Murica.

There's still 25 minutes yet!

So if Portugal win tomorrow and this stays as it is all teams in group G will be on 3 points after two games ... Quite the balanced group.

EDIT: Ehhh, scratch that thought  Klose is now joint top scorer at world cups with Ronaldo on 15 goals

Told you there was plenty of time left, Klose with the equaliser...

I guessed it would end in a 2-2 draw before the game. Wonder if it'll stay like that for the last 20 minutes.

At this rate, not very likely.

I have a feeling that Group G might go down to the very last match to decide who moves on to the round of 16.

Klose now level with Ronaldo as leading scorer at World Cups with 15 goals apiece...

Very nasty collision at the end

Mmm. Ghana are still alive.
My (immense) moral support from 4 years ago remains.

As for Germany, oh dear.

Best game of the tournament so far for me.

What an extraordinary game. I needed Germany to win and I wanted Ghana to win.

Undoubtedly the most entertaining game of the World Cup so far. Ghana played really, really well and deserved to win, although I'm rooting for Germany (as usually).

The eight world champions have all played two games now...
