Uruguay can kiss their WC chances goodbye and Suarez should not be allowed to play competitive football again until he has either seen a psychiatrist or is forced to wear a mouth guard when playing. I suspect that his employers at Anfield will be less than impressed but will do nothing because they can't afford to lose him or do anything to devalue their prized asset - but theyshouldsack him. It is a terrible shame that such a talented player is also a complete animal who would have been put down by now if he were another species.

As a Liverpool fan, I’ve resisted getting involved in the debate on Suarez as there’s just far too much emotion in people’s reactions.

However, the above is just a completely unrealistic expectation.

Liverpool FC will no doubt feel the same way about this as everyone else does – probably more so, as they will have to deal with the longer-term consequences. But if anyone thinks Liverpool FC is going to sack Suarez, and lose a €100 million asset, they are smoking something.

Do you think if he got fired he’d somehow then not be able to play again? Of course he would, as any number of teams would immediately offer him a contract.

Is a business but he's not above anyone else. This type of actions can not be dismissed or ignored because money.
 
I feel that he's shown a lack of respect to Liverpool who stuck by him through two other incidents while at the club. I've spent the whole year listening to Liverpool fans saying that he has changed and supporting him. I did make fun of them and am not surprised about the incident, but I feel it is disrespectful to them.

I'm going to assume all this means to Real Madrid and Barcelona is they get him for 10 million cheaper now. And Liverpool will have a harder time getting Alexis.

That is of course Suarez is allowed play next season.

I don't think Liverpool will do anything - but I do think they should do something. Suarez' transfer value should play no part whatsoever in any decisions regarding possible disciplinary action. Biting someone could well constitute a criminal offense... there must be a point where Liverpool cannot simply overlook the behaviour of one of their employees - whether that person is their star player or not.

Suarez is a prize asset - but he is also a liability, and he has proven that he is incapable of controlling himself even at the highest level. If FIFA impose a ban and it prevents him from playing for Liverpool for a considerable period of time, Liverpool may decide to either sack him or sue him for breach of contract, depending on what it says in his contract of course.

I didn’t say the club wouldn’t take action, only that they won’t sack him.

I would expect they would love to sell him ASAP, realise the asset value and replace him with someone like Alexis Sanchez.

Incidentally, Nigel Clough - United's current manager - has met Evans in prison and they're apparently considering signing him when he's released. So the sacking when he couldn't possibly play for you was really worthwhile :rolleyes:

Got to say the comments and memes here about Suarez are downright hilarious. IMO - the guy should stop biting or be taken out of the game immediately he does it the first time in any match he is in. That's the way we handle kids that bite when they play. It's hardly mental rape to come to that conclusion.
