I know the last few games have only been friendlies but with these performances we'll struggle to beat Costa Rica.

These Hondurans are a filthy bunch. I will be surprised if one doesn't get sent off/injures a England player.

...and Italy would struggle to beat England with that performance v Luxembourg...relax...

Joey Barton's tweet made for a good laugh.

"If there is a God. If you do exist. Prove yourself. Take out either Chiles or Townsend with a stray bolt of lightening. The nation awaits."

A lot of dangerous tackles by Honduras and quite a few yellows for their players, I think one of England's players could get taken out!

It's looking bleak for England, very bleak. We can't even score against Honduras with 10 men. Oh dear.

Well that was an electrifying match delay.

England looked ragged whenever I checked how they were doing in the first half. The second 45 wasn't much better. The whole 90 must have been a slog to watch.

Apparently the players of the Cameroon team are refusing to travel to Brazil.
They want FIFA to pay them, rather then the governing body in Caneroon due to how corrupt it is because they feel is they get the money that it will be used properly in football in Cameroon rather then if there FA got it where nobody would see it.

Let's see how this develops.

Worked out what games I'm missing when I do night shifts in work next week and there nothing really to shout about but I will probably miss the first half of England v Uruguay...

....anyone doing a fantasy team for the tournament, I'm doing one with the Sun and my team is Courtois, Fernandez, Dante, Mertesacker, Alba, Lallana, Vidal, Shaqiri, Oscar, Aguero and Ronaldo...not a bad team, I might change it before it starts...

France beat Jamaica 8-0 last night in their warm up match....what was the point in that??, I mean, England didn't do well in their three games but at least they got a good workout out of them...what would France get from that?!

England trained in Rio today and Ox-Chamberlain took part in it...there's a good chance he would make the Italy match..

Not really a fantasy team, but a guess the score on Yahoo! is what I'm doing.

They hacked at England for most of the game then spaced out their subs to waste time, we'll still win the World Cup don't you worry about that. ;)

There will be Goal-line technology for the first time at the World Cup, but it wont be the Hawkeye system that was seen in the Premier League this past season, its a different one that FIFA approved..

...also the refs will be carrying a spray on them which will be used to keep the walls during free kicks 10 yards back, it looks like shaving foam and they spray it in a line on the pitch to signal to the players were the 10 yards is, the spray disappears after a minute, its been used in the MLS and south American Leagues for the last few years..

Is any of you guys coming to Rio?

I wish :guilty:

EDIT:

Do you agree???

I would bet in Portugal...
I honestly don't think Brazil will win this time. Something will happen on the way to the finals.

Just by the way, I don't know if you guys are interested in, but I am hosting a World Cup betting game with my friends and could extend this to GTP community.
All you have to do is to fill this excel spreadsheet and send back to my email adress ( rodmagcar @ yahoo DOT com )
until the beginning of the first match on Thursday. Basically you will have to guess the results of the matches all the way to the finals.

https://onedrive.live.com/view.aspx?resid=D8EDB7C35793926!1053&app=Excel

The score system goes as bellow:

Group stage (maximum 10 points per match)
-Two points if you guess the number of goals for team A;
-Two points if you guess the number of goals for team B;
-Six points if you guess the overall result of the match ( A or B win, or Draw)

Eliminatory stage (maximum 20 points per match):
-Five points for each team positioned correctly on each match (Example: team A: Brazil x team B: Chile)
-If you positioned correctly you won points for guessing correctly the number of goals of the team (2 points each)
-To get points for the overal result (Six points like in group stage) you must have positioned correctly at least one of the teams in the match.

-If you guessed a draw, you must inform the result of the penalties in order to have one team advancing for the next stage

Extra points for guessing correctly:

-Champion=35
-runner-up=20
-third =10
-fourth =5

Total points available at group stage: 480
Total points available at eliminatory stages: 390

Total points available: 870

PS: There will be no money involved, this is just for fun.

Apparently Robbie Savage almost missed his flight to Brazil where he will be a working as a pundit for BBC during the World Cup because he turned up at the airport with his wife's passport... this isn't the first time he has done it either, and he blames the fact that his wife has the same haircut as him in their passport photos...

Does it come unfinished?

Does it come unfinished?
No. But probably made Brazilians mad.....

No offense. Lets get back on topic.
I hope the world cup will run smoothly without any interruption. May the best team wins.

Happy World Cup Eve Everyone! :dopey::D

I'm voting for Germany to win the World Cup, Go Deutschland! :D

Welbeck and Ox-Chamberlain didn't train for England earlier but Rooney said in the news conference that Welbeck will be fit for the Italy game..

...also Portugal beat Ireland 5-1 in their last warm up last night, Ronaldo missed the first two warm up games but played for 66 mins last night, didn't score though....

Top performance from Ireland, stopping Ronaldo from scoring. 👍

About the brazilian team, man, I hate Neymar. The guy just falls and rolls every time someone gets near him.

Come on Russia. You can do it!!!

Right. My mum's Croatian.
Predicting a 6-0 loss for them.
Mandzukic is suspended for this game so they certainly won't score. And their defence is not on par with Brazil's attack. Especially not in Brazil.
They'll probably let one player get a hat-trick, but it won't be Neymar.
