2014 Pirelli Hungarian Grand Prix

Apparently Mercedes thought both cars would struggle to make it to the finish, the Ferraris' seem to be bulletproof.

"For Nico, it was behind the first Safety Car when it looked like the brake system had failed. With Lewis, it was when he started losing fuel pressure – and power – as he was running behind Fernando [Alonso], with Nico closing in. We were hoping he could make it to the finish – but we expected the problem would be terminal."

Hamilton was entitled to do it regardless, Nico didn't have enough overlap to claim the corner.

Nico said as much in post-race, he was "annoyed" at that moment but not because of Lewis, rather because "The way he defended was OK. For the guy on the inside, it is his corner - so the guy on the outside needs to make it far enough in front so he can't be pushed out. I did not manage to do that."
