I love it when a driver win his home race. I don't care who.

Congratz to the top 4 driver!

Good win for Lewis, this will make the championship really exciting now.

Shame Jenson couldn't quite make the podium.

Perfect result for Lewis!! About time he got some luck this season :D

Pot. Kettle. Black

So if Alonso gets the place back from Vettel, but Vettel gets the place back from Alonso...?

What does it matter, why would the Stewards give way to Alonso when he defended against Button and Vettel doing an off bounds venture, and also getting a warning flag once in the race. Kept doing it after said flag...I mean why point out the one when the other gained an equal advantage before fighting out with Vettel.

I think Lewis had a bigger smile than Daniel for a second there

It was Räikkönen's fault, pure and simple. He made no attempt to back off when he decided to run wide, which was clearly a conscious decision in the first place. Even without that drain, it was always going to be a dangerous rejoin. If you're going to criticise the design of the run-off area, then Räikkönen absolutely deserves criticism for not backing off.
You are biased. Sky sport showed, 5 times not one, 5 times from a camera placed behind that turn, how the bump made the car bottom out causing Kimi to loose control. If there wasn't such bump Kimi would have rejoin the race as every other driver do in every other tarmac run off area in every other track.
Great battle, but Vettel beyond the track limits before and immediately after the pass... I reckon the stewards will be interested in the latter.
No they don't care since Vettel did it, it's all ok.
They didn't care Alonso starting position as well, until they realized he had a decent race pace so here it is, 5 seconds.

Hamilton mocking the shoddy trophy

Well it is Santander :sly:

He was warned though, just like Alonso, both were allowed to do it further on. But yes please have your one sided Ferrari bias, it's the only thing your team is giving you this year.

Even Hamilton admitted he screwed up, so the negative comments were in order.
No, the negative comments were little more than shots from the clock tower. It's always the same story - the one thing the British people like more than a British success story is a failure. If Hamilton had stuck to that lap and missed pole by a thousandth of a second, he'd still be subject to the same level of vitriol. Admitting to his mistake just makes the critics feel less guilty, or worse, satisfied.

Aside from the Seb,Fernando battle, was pretty average.

How though, it was red flagged, we saw Alonso carve the field from the back of the grid pretty much to the top five only to be beat out by a fresher tire Vettel. You also had Bottas do the same. We had another amazing start from Hamilton and showing that he doesn't need a front row grid spot to be in the top two spots. Then we saw him catching his team mate and it would have only been more fun if Rosberg didn't break down.

It wasn't average, much of last year was average this is above average, but I agree not completely great or amazing.

We missed a great battle at the front but Alonso and Vettel made up for it, I would have liked to see Lewis catch and pass Nico but I'm not going to complain about this result.

Race recap:

Best race for Lewis this year. The shame is he didn't get Nico on track, though he was on pace to. Merc's issues have robbed us of yet another driver-on-driver showdown.

Valtteri Bottas was very humble on the podium up there. But he's right. It all depended on how much pace the car had, and that Williams has a buttload of pace. On a single stopper, he performed more overtakes on track than he did via pit strategy. Amazing.

Daniel Ricciardo does yet another job of flabbergasting everyone by getting up on podium after a very quiet race. Another one-stopper that worked out very well.

Jenson Button almost had a Cinderella moment... but it wasn't to be. That lucky break in qualifying (considering he made his own luck by staying out for that extra run) put him up in the mix, but he kept himself there and almost gained back that podium near the end.

Sebastian Vettel whined, moaned and chattered his way to the end of the race. While he finally pipped Alonso for fifth, the fact that Alonso held him back for so long on worn tires... that tells you a lot about...

Fernando Alonso! What a race. Very naughty at points, but what a show he put on for us. If there's any further investigation, so be it. Doesn't change the fact that he gave us a good show.

Nothing else matters... Magnussen's placing shows that McLaren have finally found their pace. Hulkenberg's Force India looked very meh out there. Kyvat does yet another star turn for Toro Rosso... if a spot clears up in Red Bull in the next two years, he's earned it. Vergne does an even more impressive job of recovering from that incident early on.

----

Biggest losers today are Rosberg, Massa and Raikkonen... Massa, did very well to avoid a worse accident, even with a Caterham blocking his view, but alas, he didn't save enough of the car.

Nico seemed very vulnerable to Lewis out there... but we'll never know now what might have been.

Kimi... poor guy. That was an awful accident. Hope he recovers by the next race.

Charlie said before the race we will penalize if you do in a pass move. Nope. I just laughed on Vettel baby crying track limits and then doing it twice on the pass move. He is the biggest spoiled child ever. That's why I hope he remain where he is. If he try the same thing while driving a Ferrari he would get a black flag.
But yes please have your one sided Ferrari bias, it's the only thing your team is giving you this year.
Nope, you forget the GTE Pro win against your brand new Corvette. ;)

Once Rosberg retired, them two pretty much rescued the race by themselves. Mind you, Bottas deserves an honourable mention too. After yet another weekend of terrible luck for the Williams team, he bought them some salvation; salvation from fourteenth on the grid, might I add? Although I didn't stick around to watch the podium ceremony afterwards, I hope he saved up some of the champagne. He certainly deserves to savour it.

Lewis on his charge past the cars between him and Nico.

Valtteri Bottas on the first stint... multiple overtakes.

Alonso overtaking Kyvat with a multi-corner feint and switch. Then taking Ricciardo as he was held up by Hulkenberg. Then taking Hulkenberg. Then Magnusson.

Ricciardo on Hulkenberg... taking several laps to finally find a way around the faster Force India.

Then there was the epic multi-lap battle between Alonso and Button.

Then there was the double feint Vettel pulled on Magnusson.

Hammer time... too bad Nico retired right before getting nailed.

Then there was the big prissy catfight between Alonso and Vettel.

Yup. Pretty average race, all in all.

Once again the FIA did warn him...not sure if your feed is transmitted through a rock or what but for a third time he was warned. Alonso was warned during his gains and overtakes going off line when racing Button. Button also reported track limits on Alonso. Alonso even got a flag warning for this, yet it didn't stop him doing it again on Button after the flag or on Vettel.

You only take issue with Vettel cause your other bias to see him and RBR be in trouble and out of the lime light. Now for what Charlie really said, he said that drivers who gain an advantage in any way either passing or gaining will be penalized, don't cherry pick.

Nope, you forget the GTE Pro win against your brand new Corvette. ;)

No I didn't, unlike you I can take seeing my groups lose and not be mad about it. Especially since if Ferrari didn't win you would have complained it was a BoP conspiracy again Ferrari. See how you easily prove your bias for me. Thanks for doing the lifting.
