I think for Lewis as long as he stays out of trouble, Williams will potentially be hard to beat in the dry, Red Bull in the wet.
IIRC Williams' race pace wasn't that great but Red Bull's was, they'll probably struggle passing the Williams' though.

Why detail not to be taken too literally? We are in 2014 and we can't predict the weather on a specific location in the next hour or two? c'mon...

We'll never be able to have accurate weather predictions, you'd have to know the condition of every single air particle on Earth and how each one will interact with each other. I watch Vsauce too much...

It is looking like it will be a lot cooler which should help Williams and they have the Mercedes engine and so fast on acceleration and straightline speed. I think it will be difficult for Red Bull drivers to be ahead in a dry race as if they manage to pass, on straights they might be overtaken like they are standing still again.

If it's a wet start, and wet for a good amount of the race, that could favor Vettel somewhat, at least for a podium position. Not sure he'd get up to Rosberg though.

It would also be the first wet race on the redesigned circuit for F1.

Just hope Lewis can get through unscathed. I'd like to see him up there with Nico and the Williams guys.

With such a fast car, I think he can quite easily get to the front. Hockenheimring has some great overtaking places.

Lewis is going to have to be lucky. If it was a dry race, maybe he could pull off something like he did at Turkey in 2006 in the GP2 series where he went from 19th to 2nd with much less downforce than the rest of the field. But, with a chance of rain, that would be a highly risky strategy to pull off.

I would not be surprised if a thunderstorm would visit the track. It's been ridiculously hot and humid around here these past few days. We had 38 degree celsius temps over here yesterday!

Remember qualifying for the 2008 Italian Grand Prix?

Everyone was certain that they knew what the weather would do because the radar said it would happen.

Everyone, that is, except Toro Rosso.

6 years have passed ;) and no i don't remember!!!

The weather for qualifying and the race that weekend was forecasted for dry and sunny. All but Toro Rosso had set their cars up for dry and sunny. All but Toro Rosso had trouble because it ended up not being dry and sunny.

"Similar in mass, inertia and function" say Mercedes of the nature of the brake change. Specification-change say the other teams, Sky report them as "unhappy".

I dont think they will get in trouble for changing the brakes since it is more of a safety thing than a setting or performance thing
