The West Ham topic is more important. Am I the only one that wants them to be relegated and playing in the Championship with their big new stadium? :D

I want them to pay ever single penny it cost to 'convert' it into a football stadium. All two hundred and fifty million pounds.

Legacy of the Olympics my 🤬 arse. 250 mil for local facilities nationwide? Nah. Spend it handing the keys over to a football club which will never sell it out.

I don't care if it was Spurs, West Ham, Leyton Orient or Dulwich 🤬 Hamlet who won the tenancy bid. Anybody who wanted it should pay for the damn thing themselves.
 
Well basically my opinion on the transfer is that dobby can do one. He started good but as soon as some competition came along he bottled it. If you're being heavily rumoured to be leaving the club then your club signs a 60 million pound player who plays in your position then it takes someone who truly cares to fight and get that position back. I have large respect for mainly out playing ADM last season.
 
Must admit, seeing Di Maria leaving United to go to PSG is amusing. I remember other fans taunting City for a while about how much of a waste of money Robinho was.

I remember the last time Wrexham even paid a transfer fee. Oh, it must have been forty or even fifty thousand pounds.

That was back in 2001.

You took an £18m loss on a player that played 1 1/2 season.

United took loss of <£10m on Di Maria for one season. (A substantial portion of the Real-ManUtd transfer fee were incentives that were never payed).

For reference, Chelsea took a £50m loss on Torres.

I was mainly referring to how many goals, games, assists etc for the money. We paid less to start off with for a player that didn't do too badly for his first season and then dwindled in the second half of his second season. As apposed to a player who costed way more to begin with and they got one season out of him that was poor.

Di Maria scored 4 goals in his 32 appearances.
Robinho scored 16 goals in his 53 appearances.

That says it all for me.
 
Radamel Falcao is yet to make much of an impact on the pitch for Manchester United, but in terms of shirt sales the Colombian has performed phenomenally.

In the week following transfer deadline day the new United No.9 shirt accounted for a whopping 33 per cent of all Premier League shirt sales globally.

Next best was his new team-mate Angel Di Maria, who also arrived at Old Trafford over the summer. The Argentinian, who wears the iconic No.7 shirt, accounted for 24 per cent of all sales.

Van Gaal said at his press conference earlier that De Gea wont be selected tomorrow, no reason has been given as to why, but everyone knows he has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid for some time now, I reckon Madrid have made a bid for him recently..

I think Madrid have made a bid that we don't know about and he's had his head turned, He was fine in the pre season and played a few games and worked hard without any problems or fuss and Van Gaal praised his attitude..
 
What Vangle says in the media and what happens in reality is not always the same thing though.

Me thinks Louis is hellbent on keeping De Gea another season and somehow make him sign a contract extension ensuring a hefty transfer fee next summer. If De Gea refuses to sign he could be dropped and will potentially miss Euro 2016.

Anyway, I hope Sam Johnstone gets the nod ahead of Romero if DDG really gets benched tomorrow.
 
Johnstone will probably play, Romero hasn't played for United and its a big ask for him to make his debut in front of a new defence (to him) against a good team like Spurs, Valdes and Lindegaard have been told to look for another club..

Johnstone has played in pre season and this will be a great opportunity for him if he does play.

Sorry buddy, meant actual on-field performance, not shirt sales.

If we include shirt sales in the equation surely paying as much as they did for average players such as Darmian and Blind was the real waste of money, even if Darmian ain't played yet and Blind wasn't half-bad.
 
A win is a win. Missed kick off by about 5 minutes though so wasn't aware to the reas on for black armbands. Anyone?

This win was alright. Average performance but an important win. Darmian was most impressive.

Mahrez got me a few goals already for FPL, Leicester currently 3-0 up.

Yeah he's decent, but who's actually going to go out and buy a shirt with Darmian on the back? I thought that since you had mentioned shirt sales the discussion was heading that way.

For example, Depay and Schneiderlin were bought at a similar price. Despite Schneiderlin being a proven top class midfielder and Depay a young prospect, Depay will almost certainly be the one who sells more shirts unless his career tanks.


Maybe 'waste of money' was too harsh as Darmian and Blind are reasonably solid, I just meant money that wouldn't be re-couped through shirt sales.


You brought Soldado into discussion, from the shirt sales argument, he would have been less of a waste than Chadli, for example. But quite clearly Chadli has performed way better for Spurs, especially this last season.

To be fair, the absolute 'lad banter' phase of football humor thats taken over the internet these pst few years would make anyone want to stick fork in their eye over and over again.
