No early kick off on Saturday or Monday Night Football either.

No Silva, Aguero, Nasri, Delph or Clichy for City, no new injury problems for United, McNair and Young remain the only absentees

Anyway LVG has said that Man City are favourites despite their injuries as United have had a long way to travel in midweek going to Moscow and back (eight hour round trip) whereas City have had a home tie against Sevilla...
 
I don't know about Hurricane Patricia being the strongest ever recorded, but with Hurricane Jose it never rains, only pours.

This week alone the £50k fine and the Eva Carneiro business have been dredged up again, he's being investigated for shoving some kid who stalked him for 20 minutes and then his team's lost 2-1 to West Ham and he was sent off.
 
I'm enjoying Jose's maladies so much, it almost unspeakable.
 
Another manager to add to Liquid's collection, Charlton have sacked Guy Luzon after a bad start to the season and they lost 3-0 at home to Brentford yesterday...

The bad stuff at Chelsea is definitely down to Mourinho, I mean the things he has been up to so far this season is hardly setting a good example to his players is it?!

Swansea won for the first time in six games, thank Christ for that!!

Really cant wait for Derby day today!
 
I love the fact that the next two managers to go on Liquid's list will be Sherwood and Mourinho.

I also seriously hope that won't be the end of the madness at Chelsea.
 
It's like the entire club is imploding, surely it would be better for everyone if Mourinho cut his loses and leaves before it gets really ugly. But I guess he is too proud and pigheaded to do that.

Sunderland 1-0 Newcastle, Johnson penalty at the end of the first half after Collocini got himself sent of for a barge on Fletcher in the box when he wax the last man, it was mostly all Newcastle up to that point, around 60 minutes played.

Kompany starts for Man City.

No surprise about Sherwood, he did well initially getting Villa to the cup final but was always going to be a struggle without the likes of Delph and Benteke....

Edit...Now 2-0 to Sunderland with Billy Jones getting his first ever goal for Sunderland.

3-0 in the end, Fletcher with the third, six derby wins in a row for Sunderland now, the Collocini sending off changed the whole game..

United v City next!, Cmon United!!!!!!!!!

0-0 it finished, bit of a dull game but the last 10 minutes were good...

It really will be interesting to see if he survives this. But the touchpaper has already been lit elsewhere:

25th October - Tim Sherwood (Aston Villa, sacked) Premier League
25th October - Guy Luzon (Charlton Athletic, sacked) Championship

I'd also have money on Mourinho going soon. This cannot carry on for the defending champions.
 
I'll be honest I was hoping Sherwood would get to see his team lose to a team he almost destroyed a year and a half ago. The idea of players he was hell-bent on driving out of Spurs like Dembele, Vertonghen, Rose and Lloris being central to it would have just made it sweeter.

He is a complete and utter chancer trying to stumble across a line-up and formation that might work. He managed to do so for 70 minutes vs Leicester but decided to change things for the next game.

Absolutely don't rate him as a manger.
 
In the only non-televised game today Spurs beat Bournemouth 1-5 with Kane getting a hat-trick, Dembele and Lamela got the others, Bournemouth actually took the lead through Ritchie.
 
Oh don't get me wrong, I want this Chelsea team to get battered every week. It's great to enjoy but if I was a betting man, I wouldn't think Mourinho will be around much longer if it does continue.
 
Liverpool 1-1 Southampton, Benteke and Mane with the goals and Mane was sent off for two yellows late on, Klopp still looking for his first win, three games three draws.

Hypothesis: Because he's starting his managerial career in the top flight.

Every and any manager ought to cut their teeth in the lower leagues or even the non-leagues. There's nothing principally wrong with being a big loudmouth, everyone loved Brian Clough, but with no real management experience someone like Tim Sherwood is going to be well out of his depth.

He joins the long list of people bumped into a top flight job with little or no prior manager's experience and somehow finding it tough; Les Reed, Terry Connor, Chris Hutchings, Alan Shearer, Ricky Sbragia, Sammy Lee and John Carver to name but a few. It's much rarer for a Frank Clark or Steve McClaren to hit the ground running in their first job.

Problem for Sherwood now is the fact that he now has 'Premier League experience' he'd almost certainly be unwilling to drop down a division or two and hone his craft.

Oh, we're talking about managers? October has been a busy month:

Total: 23. One quarter of all jobs in the top 92 have changed since the end of last season. 8 in October alone.

Capital One Cup fourth Round this week, Sheffield Wednesday v Arsenal and Liverpool v Bournemouth are the Sky games...
 
Sheffield Wednesday are currently beating Arsenal... and it's only Tuesday.

Also, thanks to the Scottish League Cup, tonight's repeat of EastEnders on BBC Three is on before the episode has even been on...

We're through the looking glass, people.

edit: OK, it's 3-0 now and I'm starting to think that Arsenal don't want to make it to the next round...

Edit, Chelsea equalise!!, Remy with the goal in the 91st minute!

Edit x2, three games gone to extra time, Sheffield Wednesday beat Arsenal 3-0, what a night for them!!
