This is circular.

Give me a dictionary definition of a good league. Or a competitive league, because the two terms are not interchangeable.

Are La Liga, the SPL and the Eredivisie all on the same level because they are leagues where the championship race is almost always a foregone conclusion very early on? Of course not. A league cannot be defined alone by what teams, or what sort of teams, win it. The actual quality of the content, the calibre of players on show and, in my opinion, how it treats its fans must surely be a part of it.

.....And you do remember that just a few years ago Man City won the PL by just one goal?

...that's all I got!
Whats more shocking..that or Montpellier winning the league!? :scared:

Didn't Wolfsburg win the Bundesliga a few years ago too?

Either the guy said something to piss Messi off, or that ink has gone to his brain and he joins Suarez and Neymar in the ranks of unpredictable hot heads.

That's a steaming pile of nothing. Maybe the guy made a comment about taxes.

The wording implies he didnt move his head toward him first.

Typical clickbait footy videos.

So he forces his head towards him, then grabs his throat and gets a yellow card?

Friendly matches. Refs don't really give reds. Then again, players seem to take them seriously, Ramos put in a horrible tackle on Eriksen the other day. Still yellow mind.

I can understand then not wanting to send off in a friendly for a tackle but for violent conduct surely you'd have to dismiss him.

It was probably agreed with both managers that there would be no reds, as in a friendly it doesn't really achieve anything. I assume if either player continued to misbehave, the ref would ask for them to be substituted.

West Ham out of Europa League at the third Qualifying stage after losing to Astra 4-3 on Aggregate, Southampton progress after beating Vitisse Arnham 5-0...

They only beat a team from MALTA on penalties. No surprise that they lost to a Romanian team that sounds like a dog regurgitating a sock.

They named a weakened team I think and Bilic put a few kids out as he wanted to rest some of his senior players for Arsenal on Sunday...

What was the point of west ham bothering with the Europa league if after drawing 2-2 at home which means their opposition had 2 away goals that they just send kids half way around the world. Resting people for Saturday is a silly idea. I'd not be surprised at all if they lost to arsenal.

So Di Maria is officially a PSG player now, its a done deal, I just want to get my fellow United fans reactions to this as I have mixed feeling about it, I thought he actually had a pretty decent first season in the prem on the whole and some of the criticism was unwarranted, however....the moment things got a little tough he wanted out rather than fight for his place in the team which does show a lack of fight and a hint of cowardice, he did say he was 'delighted' to have joined PSG and only last year when he joined United he said that United were the only team he would've left Real Madrid for (I bet he is regretting saying that now!), he is getting a lot of abuse and stick from United fans....a lot of abuse!

He doesn't deserve all the abuse that he's getting but I wasn't impressed by his season with us at all. 10 assists is a good achievment for most but for a £60 million player it isn't.

I don't think he really played for the badge at his time at United either. If you talk to most United fans, we value passion for the club over (potential) quality.

Marouane Fellaini and Ashley Young were both out of the team for a long while and both looked like leaving but both worked their arses off to get back in contention and Young has been rewarded with a new contract, first sign of trouble and Di Maria wanted out, that's why I don't like him for leaving the way he did.

See? Romania aren't ahead of England in the rankings for nothing.

Crikey. I bet he fell over himself with excitement.

Immediately eliciting a penalty.

Why does Rooney continue to get adulation when he has thrown a strop and threatened to leave in the past? That's not playing for a badge.

"Sign great players or I'm gone"
"Ugggh, too much competition"

Give over.

I'm not a big fan of Rooney ever since he handed in the first transfer request. If he wants to go, let him. One of the reasons he's still at the club is because his wife won't move out of the north of England.

Anyway, Phil and Gary Neville's dad is in hospital after suffering a heart attack and is said to be fighting for his life. Thoughts with him and his family

Cheshire isn't "the north of England".

Last time I looked, it was just below Manchester, which is the North of England
Well, Dorset is just below Wiltshire which is just below Gloucestershire which is just below Worcestershire which is just below Staffordshire which is just below Cheshire which is just below Manchester, which is the North of England. Last time I looked...

Cheshire isn't the North of England. Nor is Dorset. Manchester might be - a bit.
