Best sounding muscle car I have heard since the 60s cars. Hands down.

I can't believe it's got factory cutouts. That doesn't happen.

For the sound alone, I could forgive it everything. Make mine lime green, please.

I doubt that it bypasses the catalytic converters. That would be illegal for the factory to sell.

According to Richard, it does.

But I doubt it honestly, for that exact reason too.

Yeah but he isn't very smart.

It's not like opening dumps get you much power anyways. People get some by adding them before the catalytic converters, but seeing as there's no way Dodge did that, the cutouts are for sound only.

707hp?!

Talk about upping the power game.

Granted it'll still be quite heavy but I'm interested to see how it gets on with that power and the new 8 speed auto in terms of acceleration.

It should be around the performance of a normal sports car (3000-3500 lbs) with 500-550 HP. As long as the road is straight.

Anyone know how to calculate power to weight and where this car would fit amongst other not so heavy cars?

Going off basic figures, it's power to weight ratio is around 0.161. Compared to the GT500's 0.174, Z/28's 0.132 and ZL1's 0.141. It sits in between.

Challenger Hellcat: 4,400lbs, 707hp
Shelby GT500: 3,800lbs, 662hp
Camaro Z/28: 3,800lbs, 500hp
Camaro ZL1: 4,100lbs, 580hp

pwr/wt ratio is usually given in lbs/hp.

Hellcat - 6.22
Shelby GT500 - 5.74
Camaro Z/28 - 7.6
Camaro ZL1 - 7.06

The GT500 has the best power-to-weight ratio according to proper calculations, and the over-priced 7.0L Camaro has the worst.

(I still question the type of person who would buy the Z/28 one over a C7 Corvette.)

Power-to-weight or not, it's still the worst "drivers" car in the list. Chevy or Dodge both could've put 700 or 750hp into their Camaro's and Challenger, make the car go 320kph in a straight line, but that doesn't make the car handle better, but rather light it's tyres up everytime you put your foot harder on the pedel. I rather 500hp and proper chassis than 750hp just to brag on the 1/4 mile.

Exactly why I said I would have a C7 Corvette over the Z/28. I think a car with with ludicrous power can be fun when driven on a proper track, rather than a drag strip.

Crap, 700+. However heavy this thing might be and all that crap people are throwing around, this thing will be an incredibly fun street car, even in automatic form. And it looks the proper part. The handling woes will be more or less taken care of by the aftermarket in 3 months, and in 6 months they will be really solved.

I never thought I'd say this, but I'd buy one.

Weight is what helps launch launch. and by the looks of it. it Plants well even with 295's

This isnt a Challenger "T/A" or ACR so most people wouldnt car if it can lap The Ring or Laguna in record time. most buyers of all 3 cars, regardless of model, will end up on the Drag Strip than Race Track.
