Darn, 35,000€!? In Portugal, that would mean that the Ecoboost would cost around 5,000€ LESS than the GT86.

(Yes, the GT86 is priced around 40,000 euros in Portugal. When your price matches that of a brand new Peugeot 308 GT SW, you know just how badly constructed your car taxes are...)

If anything, it's good news for Belgian buyers, it means they can get their own 'Stang for barely over GT86 money. Pretty impressive, if you ask me...
$43.5k for a GT86? That's pretty high.

The Scion FR-S starts at $24,900 over here. Are cars rather pricy over there in general?

Well, if you're a sports car, you're bound to have a tough life in Portugal. I'll use a great example; the Chevrolet Camaro SS (back in 2011):

In America, it's around 30,000€ (American price translated to Euros, mind you). In Portugal?

93,500 f:censored:n euros. The car somehow manages to cost almost 100,000€, which downright sends it onto the oncoming path of 911s and R35s. Yep.

Oh yeah, and the Cabrio? 98,500€.

You have to remember, importing the car is what makes muscle cars expensive in Europe in general. Taxing only makes it worse in some countries, though.

I can understand that for muscle cars, but seeing what happens with the GT86 is what baffles me. I mean, 40,000 euros? That hardly makes sense, but Portuguese taxes tend to do that.

As for the Mustang, I can almost certainly say that the GT will cost almost 90,000€, just like the Camaro, and the Ecoboost will cost around 40,000-50,000€. Unless Ford has something up their sleeves, I'm almost sure that such prices will be the Portuguese prices for the 2015 Mustang...

40,000€ is still 8,000€ less than it costs here. But if diesel 1-Series costs the same, 48,000€ for a sportscar doesn't sound that high anymore.

You literally plug in the programmer to the OBDII port, press a few buttons, and you make ridiculous amounts of extra power/torque.

No complaining here.
Yeah, that's not fun. I don't care how much power it gives you, I want to do it in a way that's actually fun.

I'd get the Ecoboost just because I like to be somewhat unique. When people think Mustang, they think V8. I like to think differently. ;)

You should try the 5 liter before you decide I think. That engine is magnificent, a far better engine, IMO, than the ecoboost.

First one on the street.

This is also worth a read. There's another model coming called the GT350S, the standard 350 will make 520hp at minimum, over 100hp/liter is guaranteed by Ford.

^ Negative, I don't think ford is planning to put a blower on the 5.2. Unless there is a source I havent seen or heard. I post regularly on SVTP.

The next GT500 will be (either blown or turbo) straight line monster. Hopefully they take the crown from dodge again. 707hp on a 4500lb is crazy, the performance of that car is good considering the weight. Imagine if it was on a 3800lb car...

It wouldn't need the 707 to be faster if it was 3800.

I just assumed the GT350S would just be a superchaged GT350 like on the previous gen GT350s or the original ones. A race car though sort of makes sense.

There's a lot of Shelby activity going on with this pony.

Not a complaint but, sometimes I feel weight savings could be a bit more. Is this going to be a high volume produced car? if not and only a lucky few thousand will get one, a carbon roof, boot lid and bonnet would be nice if that hasn't been done yet.

It's going to very limited, only a few hundred and should be close to 200lbs lighter than the standard 350.

Base Diesel 1 series is significantly more then a Base GT86 here.

About a 10k AUS difference.
