He might've finished in 3rd or even 2nd, but there's no way he would've beaten Vettel. Vettel is just to dominant today.

Well we'll never know, doesn't matter how dominated he is, if the undercut takes him down from first there isn't much he can do on a narrow track. That was the goal of Mercedes and a crazy day and their inability earlier in the weekend screwed them over, thus they couldn't capitalize on today.

There are a lot of Prii in Singapore. :D

F1 cars aren't terribly complicated from an electronics point of view. They don't have ABS, ESC, DSC, self-parking functions, variable ratio steering, alarm systems, radar-cruise control and etcetera. Certainly there's a lot of telemetry on board, but given how much data goes through the F1 car's radio systems, and how much electrical energy is involved in the ERS system, you expect all the electronic control systems to be pretty well-shielded.

I'd imagine that to be the case; I gave a singular example. For the most part, a street circuit plus a league with a history of mechanical maladies tends to cause lots of retirements. Commentators will look for excuses during events which cannot easily be explained.

This race is almost done. Whether they drop the flag after the 59th lap or the 61st, I don't think there's any doubt as to who's won this one.

Adds up the wild and weird. Atleast that guy didnt stop the race completely :D

Swap positions? Now? Wha- the why? There is NO time for Sainz to pass both Max and Perez within this last lap!

That's a shame that they had to make that declaration. Also, Grosjean is out.

He fought his way back to 8th place. I can understand fully why he says it.

He should keep his spot.

Verstappen: "No!!!"
STR Radio: "We need you to switch with your teammate now please"

Actually glad that Verstappen refused to let Sainz pass.

The commentary suggests that he may have been given the place from Sainz earlier. He ignored them anyway :)
 
It was a stupid call for STR. There was little chance Sainz could have overtaken Perez within the last lap. But Max is definitely going to get a dressing down for that. Especially as the team apparently moved Sainz over for him earlier.

My point in asking is weird doesn't spice anything up, nothing changed at the front from before to after the guy caused a scene. If the race actually played out and all strategies were to go the way they were planned it could have been a stronger race for Mercedes with Nico and putting him on the faster tires. We'll never know though.
 
I hope we can get some more battles between Mercedes, Ferrari, and Red Bull to finish out the season.

Great race for Ferrari and Red bull.
