Rossi is in the Wall of Chumpions, better known as the barrier at the exit of T18.
 
Session has been red-flagged, Rossi has hit the barrier at Turn 18. Fair bit of damage.

Nope. Silverstone. Can't remember which driver it was, but a collision with a barrier left the car without a front wing.

Nope. It always sounds incredibly muffled.

Anyway, Rossi is quicker than Stevens, and Rossi can't fit all that well in the car and his kness occasionally hit the clutch pedal.

Sorry for double-posting, but Kvyat has topped P2. Hamilton and Rosberg were 4th and 7th respectively.

I'm really kicking myself for not backing either Red Bull for a podium finish yesterday, Ricciardo was around 3/1 and Kvyat was around 9/2. :grumpy:

OK yes hes only completed P2 but Rossi was over 1 no 3! seconds ahead of his teammate. I hope P3 and Q goes good for him. His hit in P1 is not surprising. Many people have hit that wall. I don't see podium but dang this kid can drive pretty good for being a back marker. I will be super stoked come COTA. :D

Well give it until FP3 when the set up is more toward qualifying, and then obviously qualifying and the race. I'd say just let the weekend run the course and then decide. Neither of them ran close to their FP1 times
 
Rossi didn't run his P1 time due to getting about 10 minutes to run the car on a systems check after it was rebuilt. Just that he was matching pace with Stevens regardless of setup and program that was being run...

Stevens was having issues before he wrecked in P2, the point is P1 seems to tell a better story than P2. I'm not trying to take away from Rossi or give to Stevens. But I'd say a more realistic set up that isn't testing is best to wait for and that doesn't happen until FP3 as you know. Quali will tell us (as long as nothing happens) more than any session has.
 
Hamilton claims Red Bull seems to have the upper hand in Singapore.
Not sure if this is Mercedes and Hamilton being "polite" or actual concerns. Although the Mercedes power advantage is very much reduced to a minimum at this kind of track. It's been proven before that Red Bull have a very good chassis and aero package, the achilles is that Renault PU.

Circuit reprofiling doesn't look too bad, but I still think that there is a lot of unnecessary movement involved - the whole thing could be straighter and still achieve the same effect. I suppose they think that drivers coming under pressure might miss an apex or two, compromising them into the hairpin.

Agreed. I think if they straightened the run to the hairpin, along with removing turns 18-21, the track would be quite good.

Granted, Johnnie Walker is a F1 sponsor. Never truly know what might be in those "drink" bottles. With his Mclaren woes, it wouldn't be surprising.

All of the Mercedes powered cars look slower than usual.
