I think LMP3 is already the smallest prototype class you could make.
What about the CN class:

That's the AsLMS desperate for car numbers (even though they shouldn't worry. What about the CN class![]()
LMP4 would be like track cars aka KTM X-Bow or BAC Mono...but it'd be kinda pointless.
So GT4?LMP4 would be like track cars aka KTM X-Bow or BAC Mono...but it'd be kinda pointless.
I don't really think this fits into FIA/ACO regulations, I also don't think it makes sense performance wise. What about the CN class:![]()
Yes that too. Look LMP3 is the lowest because they it's just getting to GT like cars with no roof.Like the Caterham AeroSeven?
Yes that's why it's pointless for LMP4.So GT4?

Also there is no worry for LMP1...anybody who has any worries about that class is paranoid.
Yeah but IIRC (watched the series you're thinking of on the YouTubez) the class where there are track cars also has equivalent performing GT4 or older Touring Cars.I'm not also talking about the ALMS, there are small international championships (V de V, Supercar Challenge) that have these cars and more rarer cars (Ferrari 458 Italia GT2).
Do you guys think that there will be a P4 (LMP4) class in the future? the GT's got such a thing (LMGT1, GT2/GTE, GT3 and GT4). Or will it replace the CN class (you know cars such as the Radical)?
And what is the future of the LMP1 class? Only one series uses it (WEC) and they are highly expensive. I'm fearing it will suffer like the GT1 class![]()
And in the future, are all existing protoypes (P1, P2, P3) going to have a closed top?
And PC (Prototype Challenge)? It´s going to get laid off with LMP3's.
GT1 has bad luck tied to it.I don't think CN is getting replaced anytime soon. And no, there are no plans for P4 class.
P1 will be fine. Its basically only for teams with massive budgets. The only way it'll go the route of GT1 is by changing the name to GT1, only then will it be time to worry.
Pretty much from what I've been seeing.
While it hasn't been officially been said, the general consensus appears to be that its pretty much what will happen.
GT1 has bad luck tied to it.But yeah P1 is fine, heck we've got rumors of another manufacturer or two coming in the next couple years it seems (car count at Le Mans this year is EPIC). And the closed top thing makes sense as you have drivers going up the LMP ladder (plus it's safer).
The new SMP LMP2 is actually running!

They might need to revise the revisions.Oops ACO, thats 6 LMP2 makes. (Ligier, HPD, SMP, ORECA, Dome, Morgan).
One can argue Morgan and Ligier are the same, as both are done by OAK but technically the Morgan is a Pescarolo, which is a Courage with original chassis design dating back to mid 00'sThey might need to revise the revisions.![]()
Hmm...Morgan might leave as IIRC they haven't made any plans for a new car. Oh and we forgot Alpine. One can argue Morgan and Ligier are the same, as both are done by OAK but technically the Morgan is a Pescarolo, which is a Courage with original chassis design dating back to mid 00's![]()

Oh whoops. That is a rebranded ORECA so does not count. Damn, I forgot Gibson (Zytek)!!!
And of course, there's the "Wolf" and "Caterham" cars we can't forget.
Dammit Lotus, look what you did.
Buy stock in Oreca and Onroak now!!
In person, it's not as good as the new Lola which looks surprisingly good in person. That Dome has to be best looking one though. The Ligier looks like a snow mobile to me on track. Still, the FIA/ACO helping their buddies Oreca and Onroak out by limiting the competitionTo be fair, the Ligier is a classy looking car. Easily one of the best modern LMP designs of the last 5 years.
Silverstone has a new air con system installed today

~150+ kph EDIT: With peaks far higher of course. A chimney fell down 25 meters from a factory in Munich, on to a boardwalk, fortunately no one was walking there at this time. Racing an LMP in these conditions would be crazy, good that the test at Paul Ricard is done.Holy ****! How high are those winds?!![]()
