So please inform me of all the factory stuff BMW is in. I give respect to those that are willing to put their names (manufactures) out there and compete, I'm willing to respect those who put R&D and engineering efforts out their to further all automotive. BMW I can honestly say at the time of this post isn't one of those groups, correct me if I'm wrong and that'll be fine.

side note: I talked about Super GT (which in essence is a Japanese DTM) as part of the Nissan list because DTM was used as part of BMWs repertoire. However, I mutually see both in the same light as I would most national based series with only national manufactures.

@RACECAR one it's a forum, two it's a discussion that said forums promote, three it actually pertains to the topic. Why you have to be the moral arbiter all of a sudden, I have no idea but it's just conversation. Not sure why it's so obstructive to you.

To my knowledge, no teams in Blancpain are "Factory." That's a rule. They can be factory supported. IE why Bentley is M Sport and HTP, Lamborghini with Grasser, Audi with Pheonix and WRT, and so on. Also to my knowledge, any team with "BMW Sports Trophy Team" in their title is factory supported in some way shape or form.

I won't argue about the other areas. Opinions are opinions.

thanks for the clarification I always assumed they were factory teams just with their own names, like Joest Audi

Cota entry list @Furinkazen refer to our previous chats and you might work out who one of the ford drivers are looking at this

Long is the obvious choice but his heart is a air-cooled flat 6 so that it a hard switch to see. Pedro Lamy is still quick and seems to be loyal to whoever is signing the paychecks. Bamber is another quick guy who was set the fastest lap for the 19 car at Le Mans and could be available if Alonso has had enough of his current F1 nightmare and is looking to move on.

I'd think less obvious but you might kick yourself when you see how obvious it is.

Just to narrow things down on that list, are they Driver 1, 2 or 3?

Bertolini did testing work on the MC12 but Collard has much more overall experience. The problem with Collard is he is the "pro" but Aguas the silver driver is quicker in the races.

I would hire none of them and sign Jenson Button instead.

Stefan Mucke isn't in the #97, has been in all season. Thiim has hopped off the Dane Train seemingly.

Knowing who it is (and it's fairly obvious) my only question is why? If I were poaching talent from another team, he certainly wouldn't be my first choice.

I thought it was water cooled, either way if Porsche is getting rid of the GT program it wont be so hard, especially with Ford money. I'd say they pick up some of the former SRT/Dodge guys, they're probably wanting a nice ride.

I think it's safe to assume the Asian builder is Nissan. I expect it to be either them or the surprise one.

Knew you'd like it have to say it does look rather DBR9ish.

Exactly what I was gonna say, I approve of this.

In fact, I can't help but notice how GT1-like in general GTE is slowly shaping up to be. I thought GT3 was already there the way its evolved since it started. I can only imagine the "Tweaked" C7.R will basically be much closer to the old C6.R GT1 then it is now.

Is Dome not in the running?

They never were, from the moment the selection process started. Something has to explain the reason as to why Strakka dropped the Dome chassis after Le Mans and replaced it with a Gibson one, and that reason is not just the fact that the team will move up to LMP1 status...
