Fox Sports 1 is airing all 6 hours of the Silverstone race this weekend. Lucky for those of us who have the channel, but at least we're getting coverage now.
Even if one can tolerate Bob Varsha and his crew for an entire 6 hour period, I'd still opt for the stream. Fox Sports will only air half the race as half the broadcast will be blocked by recurrent and prolonged commercial breaks.

Are they still holding the official stream behind a paywall that is poorly setup?

And If there is anything Nascar, even a practice. They will stop broadcasting. lol

Fox doesn't really care about NASCAR anymore, now their world revolves around MLB and MMA.

Also, edit, don't double post.;)

I know. :p I make a post then I continue reading the page then think of something and forget about the first post. I try not too. :p but I double post very often. I dont mean too. :p

They do care about Nascar, if Nascar is on, It's the only race being broadcasted. :D But honestly, the coverage this year isnt so bad. I hate it when they cut a 6 hour race into a 1 hour long highlight reel though. When they do that nothing makes any sense and you can't figure out where any cars are. :p

Is Endurance racing becoming more popular in the USA? It feels like they have more races broadcasting than they did last few years. Last year Silverstone and Spa were both not televised.

Image the amount of complaints FOX would get if they televised Le Mans over The second Daytona race.:lol::lol: (Actually Sonoma road course is that week, and I don't think Nascar fans really like that track.)

Actually I might be going to Sonoma, its Jeffs Gordans last race at one of his favorite tracks. (And mine too) Although seeing him drive at Le Mans or Daytona 24h would be awesome!

I was right! More le mans viewers in 2014 than 2013.
"On the track the 2014 Le Mans 24-Hours race was the theatre of a ... This gave a potential audience of 802.1-million viewers (707.3 in 2013)."

Which is actually better coverage than that of our own home-based TUSC.
At least you have the option of getting it, every provider in Western Canada dropped Fox Sports Racing (Speed channel renamed). Now I can't watch on TV, and I'm geoblocked from streams for series like Blancpain endurance. Guess I'll just wait for someone to put it on youtube.

Don't worry GTPlanet will be here to highlight all of the interesting things. XD Ill be sure to not come on here before watching it. :)

Pretty sure UFC is the one filling Fox's pockets. You couldn't watch a NASCAR race last year without some UFC event being advertised.

Also, they still do. NBC will soon be challenging their coverage and Fox doesn't want its sports network to lose that fanbase to NBC's sports network. That and they are STILL trying to be ESPN.

All this does is further prove what I have long said: NASCAR does not care. If it seriously wanted to "Destroy" American Sportscar racing, they could've just killed off TUSC entirely. They never have given Grand-Am sufficient treatment with its TV coverage (despite the financial support and eventual buying out) and they are only repeating the same with TUSC.

I don't even know who the commentary crew will be.

Any of you guys know if the official WEC app does live streaming for the practices?

edit;
nnnnnnnope

What's exactly wrong with it? Its what NBC currently does with Formula 1 and its what Speed Channel did before.
I didn't know they did that often. Usually a few of the commentators are actually at the track.

Heading up to the track tomorrow!! Can't wait for my first WEC experience!
I work at Nissan so taking my ID and jacket, see if I can find my way into some interesting places :p
No harm in trying....

It was like that with Speed Channel. I have the 2009, 2010 and 2011 editions on my media PC. I remember how pissed I was when I found out that the 2011 coverage was interrupted to broadcast some meaningless Nascar practice in some god forgotten oval.

Edit: the same thing happened with the other two races. Sadly, it's really hard to find Eurosport coverage.
Just found out that Eurosport dropped WEC coverage here :( . Last year they always aired the final hour or two.

Sun's out at Silverstone now, it will be interesting to see how much the track dries out before qualifying.

Toyota have been doing a lovely job of sandbagging. Watch this. :mischievous:
