More news on the disappearing LMP1 class. http://sportscar365.com/lemans/wec/rebellion-planning-lmp1-return-imsa-options-for-2017/

I would love to see more of these cars and would love to see the class grow but I don't think the class fits in with the WEC.
A World Championship is too much for LMP1 Private Teams, what is worst is that since the Hybrids are so much more powerful than the Non-Hybrids, they don't get much TV Time which really stresses out the sponsors.

I do think LMP1 needs to come back to regional championships and have it exclusive to Private Teams, possibly have LMP1 for ELMS or the NAEC.

Only correct for normal power in some cases. The Toyota was 500hp. I remember reading the engine in the CLM had 750hp. Of course there is not an extra 500hp on tap.

Guess I used Power in the wrong context, I meant that the Hybrid LMP1s are way to quick.

Does the Nissan count? Ahaha!
Nissan is *supposed* to be hybrid, but they couldn't get it working and then there were supplier problems. They should be running 100% next year with the hybrid system. The car will never be successful without it.

I hope so! Just the thought of seeing 8 LMP1 cars speeding though Abby while wrestling for position on the first lap gets me excited in Manny more ways then one!

No one want them to be successful then me!!!

Rebellion is usually at the top of the speed traps.

Yeah, the hybrids are usually so much quicker on the lap because acceleration. Porsche at Fuji anyone? Was at top speed at the start line.

Still reckon it won't do much sadly.

It's too bad WSCC or the ELMS doesn't have LMP1, they'd be perfect there even if in the WSCC it just meant the NAEC races.
But then the Grand Am fanatics would go mad: muh DP isn't the fastest anymore.

LMP Teams are probably already mad because of how much of an advatage DP have over them.

Not anymore, Honda is going to use their 600bhp DP motor in Shank's LMP2 car.

Like that'll stop 'em from bitching about the DPs (nevermind the fact that the numbers advantage was already against them to begin with).

I didn't realise how wide LMP1 wheels are! And how light

Its only subtly different to the 458. But what a drastic change it makes to the entire car, I like it!

I am very interested in this! Is it a magazium alloy like f1 wheels or is it just an aluminium alloy? Also what year was this made because LMP1 wheels narrowed a couple years back.

That's ****ing cool!!
