Unless they are getting direct support from JGR, they were doing just fine in RCR-supported equipment. Newman and Menard both made the Chase on points. Dillon actually came a lot closer to the top 16 than I would have ever expected. Other than the last six weeks when Bowyer went on a nice streak of top 10s, MWR did nothing this year. I would rather be in equipment on par with RCR than MWR.

To be honest, Furniture Row did far better then the whole RCR team most of the time (which I suspect is mostly down to Truex and Pearn) so if anything, this switch combined with the support they will get is only to make them even stronger.

Another boring race, more hypocritical calls by NASCAR, a BS finish (just how the hell did biffle manage to save more gas than everyone else, even after he pitted laps before them). Getting real tired of NASCAR right about now. Open wheel is the way to go for me. And thats coming from someone that was all but fed race feul from Darlington as a kid.

It's the tired and true story man... it's all the same here from Atlanta.

Anyways, I started watching the race while eating dinner, about 27 laps to go I think, and I find BK and Joey not too far back, but far back enough not to win. I eat my happy dinner and then I hear something about a penalty for BK. Up to this point, I hadn't been watching the race at all today. Lap 27 was the first sight of it so I wasn't sure how Penske was doing this weekend.

Saw NBC show the replay, and was astounded. Clear as day shot for this instance compared to last weekend's incident, and four cars stacked up behind Biffel after he slowed down. I doubt they looked at telemetry to see what he was doing, but everything looks like it was intentional. It's such 🤬 how NASCAR can be so flippy-floppy with their rulings, and have no actual foot on the ground.

As far as what I would do to fix this is implement the lighting poles like Daytona has at every track. That way, everyone knows when to go. It's not "here, you're the leader, please go first." No, it's balls to the wall, first to make it back wins.

I'm getting too caught up in it all now again. That's why I stopped watching NASCAR and looked at WEC, Formula 1, Rally, and Red Bull air race when it's on... Much more skill needed there and less of "Entertainment Tonight" factor to it..

How many other racing series leaders will be laughing at NASCAR (if they don't already) after next week if and when Kevin Harvick goes from regular season points leader to not being able to compete for a championship due to complete 🤬 rules?

This whole restart business I put on the drivers and teams. They should've known better than to whine and complain about tougher enforcement because this is the result you get.

However, they didn't ask for NASCAR to be horribly inconsistent.

Which is why they should've not raised such a ruckus. Why ask for more enforcement from a body that has trouble making good calls? Besides, losing a spot or two on a restart because someone is trying to game the restart has less consequence than a black flag. You can overcome the former a lot better.

Edit: Read that one wrong...

Stenhouse finished 4th in the Bristol spring race.
Biffle was 2nd in the 600.
Biffle was 5th in the August Pocono race.

Today was the team's 4th top 5 this season.

Biffle didn't get a T5 at the 500.

You're right, that was one of the Duels.

Edit: Nick de Groot of motorsport.com is claiming Tony Stewart will not race after next season. Awaiting solid sources before going any further with this... (I know it's been rumored for a few weeks now, but still...)

Brian Scott displaying his exquisite spatial awareness abilities.

Edit: Brad K replying to a guy saying that him and Logano should step out of the Xfinity Series and let Blaney race more regularly.

Funny, just 10-15 years ago the unproven talents got sponsorship with no problem.

Finally someone reliable and trustworthy has tweeted about it.

Saw this coming. Wish Larson could've gotten this ride instead of the Ganassi one, but anyway, wonder if the number will change with Clint as is tradition with SHR, or the #14 will stay

Actually, until 2020 we have a significant batch of drivers that could retire.

Here, I considered anyone OVER 35.

- Jamie McMurray (39)
- Jeff Gordon (44)
- Jimmie Johnson (40)
- Dale Earnhardt, Jr. (40)
- Ryan Newman (37)
- Kevin Harvick (39)
- Tony Stewart (44)
- David Gilliland (39)
- Greg Biffle (45)
- Carl Edwards (36)
- Matt Kenseth (43)
- Clint Bowyer (36)

Motorsport breaks another big silly season development but they are still looked at as unreliable on these forums. C'mon, guys.

Nick de Groot hasn't exactly been a stellar source during his journalism career.

Jim Utter broke the story first anyway.. not that I like him all that much either.

When hasn't Nick been?
I've known Nick since he was some kid who couldn't type a paragraph, I don't remember him ever being big time wrong on a subject

Am I the only one who's having a hard time grasping that Jimmie Johnson and Dale Jr are 40? Most of the guys its like "Kinda figured", but those two (along with Mcmurray and Harvick), I'm just going "Whoa what?" And then I'm left talking like I'm 40 and asking "Has it really been that long?"
