Great to see Kyle back in victory lane. Being a huve fan of his, I never thought I'd see the day when I only wanted him to win and not worry about the chase. Today is that day.

Anyone catch him burning the tires off in the background during Bowyer's interview? Now THAT'S a proper photobomb!

I hope that my grandfather has NBC Sports on his DirecTV package (have a satellite box in the garage) because I don't have it on cable. Otherwise, I'll be hunting for streams or hope that I can find an MRN affiliate soon. The part that makes the absolute least sense about lacking NBC Sports is that the cable package my dad has includes both FS1 and FS2...

And the best thing:
No more FOX sports for 8 months!!!
No more Larry Mac as color commentator!!!

So we go from Boogity-boogity-boogity to:

I liked Rick Allen when he did Trucks but unsure about him doing the main series. I'd still take Allen Bestwick over Rick but I think it's an improvement over Adam Alexander.

I guess there is a first time for everything.

Congrats to Kyle, he certainly earned quite a bit of respect today.

And now for the predictable part...

Why doesn't NASCAR wake up and realize that people want more road courses? It sounds like the crowd was rather impressive and both Xfinity and the trucks have had success at them. Even the TV ratings for road courses are solid and are usually a bright spot for the cable races.

To play Brian France's advocate, how many people want road courses because they legitimately think the racing is better, and how many just want them because there are less of them than anything else

I think it's a combination of things.

The racing can be better as passing takes a little more skill than at larger ovals where you just have to find a faster groove. Plus, even when there isn't much action going on it's still fun to watch the drivers manhandle the cars around a road course.

I also think the numbers come into play as I think people are bored of the 1.5 mile ovals and do want something different, even if it isn't necessarily a road course. I'm not sure if adding more road courses would help pull NASCAR out of it's slump, but I don't see the harm in mixing in some smaller ovals and road course just to add some variety into a rather stale schedule.

I think the best course of action for NASCAR is replace all 2nd visits to a track with a new track, excluding Daytona & maybe Charlotte.

Because my living room TV isn't HD, chances are that NBC's broadcasts won't run smooth for me. That's the only thing that I'll be mad about.

I'm just glad I can finally watch Busch & Truck races at my dads house (He gets NBC Sports, but not Fox Sports)

I'm afraid I've got some bad news.....

Was just gonna say the same. He's Definitely not gonna like the news (Apart from the fact that he'll have to bear with hearing Adam Alexander for the rest of the season).

This is why I don't ever complain about the races at Pocono, Michigan, Dover, etc. If these tracks lost their second date, they would almost certainly go to a second date at another 1.5 mile track. No thanks.

Adam Alexander isn't too bad. It was Kyle Petty that was incredibly annoying during both of their stints on TNT.

Kyle Busch has 10 more races to get into the top 30. As it stands he has to do better than Matt DiBenedetto, Josh Wise, Michael Annett, Alex Bowman, Brett Moffitt, Justin Allgaier and Cole Whitt. Seems like a pretty tall task

He's more than 125 points out of 30th. He doesn't have to just beat those guys ahead of him, he has to finish no worse than 13th in every race through Richmond.

I have some extra thoughts to share from the weekend at Sonoma Raceway, and I'll chat about those and more in a later post. For now, here's the July schedule. Maybe you'll be heading to some of these races this month:

--- July 2015 Schedule: Trucks ---
July 9: Kentucky
July 22: Eldora

--- July 2015 Schedule: Xfinity ---
July 4: Daytona
July 10: Kentucky
July 18: Loudon
July 25: Indianapolis

--- July 2015 Schedule: Cup ---
July 5: Daytona
July 11: Kentucky
July 19: Loudon
July 26: Indianapolis

So we got some big races coming up, at Daytona and at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Don't count out the Trucks at Eldora, though. There's your schedule in case you're looking forward to any upcoming races next month.

Busch League. The way the Toyota/Save Mart 350 was going, I was kind of pulling for a Busch brothers' sweep at Sonoma Raceway. It was "Rowdy" Busch (Kyle) finishing ahead of Kurt Busch for the 1-2 sweep. I'm pretty sure this isn't the first time a couple of family members swept the finishing order (like two brothers or a father-son combination). I saw most of the race and enjoyed a lot of the action.

Going around on Facebook (and maybe Instagram too), most fans are ranting about recent news events- especially that of the Confederate Flag and NASCAR's stance on it. This isn't the thread to discuss this matter, but considering NASCAR's deep Southern roots, this is a loaded issue with many gray areas. I probably can't even imagine what it would be like the next time NASCAR visits Darlington (for example). Again- this current events issue is too loaded for this thread.

Up next... Xfinity and Cup rock Daytona on Independence Day weekend. In other words, a Wild Card race is coming up- almost anybody can win considering the insanity Daytona provides. Bring on Daytona!

How much would wins help?

Each win would help a lot. 3 bonus points for a win, 1 for leading a lap, 1 more if leading most of the laps. That's a possible 48 points for a win which as of right now would put him at +17 over the minimum he would need to maintain as 13th position nets 31 points per race without any bonuses. Either way, he needs to gain at least 14 points per race over whoever is 30th in points any given week.

Currently, he is 137 points out of being 30th (136 to tie), and ten races left until the chase begins, which is how I got the 14 points figure.
