Most of the "cookie cutters" do have subtle differences.

I believe Atlanta is more steeply banked than Charlotte and I know Chicagoland is shaped differently compared to Kansas/Las Vegas/Kentucky.

I'm sure the teams would want to keep the second race at Charlotte, if only to have an extra week at home with their family.

My dream schedule for Cup:

Out of the current tracks in the schedule:
- Daytona x2
- Talladega x2
- Charlotte x2
- Richmond x2
- Martinsville x2
- Bristol x2
- Phoenix x2
- Atlanta
- Texas
- Chicagoland
- Kansas
- Las Vegas
- Darlington
- Watkins Glen
- Sonoma (is Sonoma a sponsor? If yes, bring back the old name of Sears Point).
- Michigan
- Auto Club (let it go back to California)
- New Hampshire
- Dover
- Indianapolis
- Homestead Miami
- Pocono

Adding new tracks to the schedule:
- Road America
- Montreal
- Mid Ohio
- North Carolina (The Rock)
- Milwaukee Mile
- Gateway (can 43 cars run there?)
- Iowa (I like the racing there)

This totalizes 36 races. Since we still have double dates at Charlotte and Daytona, adding Shootout, Duels, All-Star and the All-Star Shootout, we have 41 races, being 5 of those non-point race.

This but eliminate the autumn Charlotte event (keep the Coke 600) and the second events at Phoenix, Richmond, and Martinsville.
Replace those 4 races with:
Eldora

Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico

North Wilksboro (renovate the circuit first to modern standards)

and Circuit de Gilles Villenueve in Canada

This way, NASCAR is bringing back dirt racing, bringing back a very popular old track, adding two former international Busch Series favorites on the calendar while expanding the NASCAR fanbase but not with expensive overseas international races in Europe that would hurt poorer teams.

Sonoma is the name of the county.

Thanks. :D

I can agree with taking off the second event at Charlotte, but I like Phoenix, Richmond and Martinsville too much to remove them haha.

Races across the border - north or south - just won't work for Cup. Too many logistics involved with foreign travel, even if it isn't too far away.

And please, don't shorten the races or the schedule. It's good the way it is.

If a bunch of low budget Nationwide and truck teams can manage to get to Canada and Mexico I'm sure Cup teams would have no problem doing the same thing. Not to mention they managed to find their way to Japan a couple times in the 90's.

And please, don't shorten the races or the schedule. It's good the way it is.

They need to do something as the ratings aren't moving in the right direction.

Also, fewer races means each race has more importance so people will feel more inclined to watch.

The owner of Circuit de Gilles Villenueve said he doesn't want stock cars on the track at all anyways.

It's a shame that as long as Bruton Smith and Eddie Gossage walk this Earth, we'll never ever ever see a race at COTA. The amount of whining if that were to happen from those two wouldn't be worth it.
Personally, I think every track should only have one race, and you add Road America, Iowa, Gateway, ORP, Mid-Ohio, Laguna Seca, that Niagra Falls track that Gordon is conencted to, and COTA to make the schedule 30 races.

Just ordered a bunch of Jeff Gordon Rainbow merchandise, I swear to christ if they do a Red & Blue flames after this I'll flip out then spend more money

EDIT: We just gonna edit that bit out. People are going to be so disappointed if he rubs the paint off the side. All the hype, then that.

P.S. EDIT: Thanks for the reminder @GTPorsche.

Did any of you see "NASCAR America" earlier today with some of the old-school liveries to be run at Darlington on Labor Day? While I don't have a link to pictures or anything, look up some of the pictures of some of the throwback paintschemes to be shown for the Southern 500. My favorite of the throwback paintschemes that were unveiled was the beautiful #2 Miller High Life car. Second favorite I've seen was Kevin Harvick's #4 Budweiser Lager Beer car. So in other words, the two "Beer Wagons" are my favorites.

This weekend, though, is all about Watkins Glen for XFINITY and Cup. One thing I forgot to mention was perhaps the most memorable Watkins Glen moment to me- I remember after one race where Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart exchanged some words to each other back in 2000 or 2001. The old ESPN show "RPM 2 Night" (any of you remember this show?) mentioned that between Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart, "Smoke" was the only one using swear word after swear word.

They just couldn't leave him alone in the end, could they?

🤬 all those money-hungry nutjobs. Here's hoping for them to burn lots of money for lawsuit costs only to lose.

Well, we can see one thing plain as day: The apple didn't fall far from the tree!

In all seriousness, I do hope Tony can find a way past all this drama sounding him for the last few years. A three time champ shouodn't be having his career questioned every six months.

There's no way they can win that case. Stewart would be making a mistake if he settled that out of court.

It's not wrongful death when someone gets out of a race car, on a race track, by their own decision and then gets hit by a car that is moving on that same race track and ends up dying.

Even if it isn't wrongful death, I can see them settling it out of court anyway. How often do we see companies shell out a bunch of cash for some bogus lawsuit against them so they can just move on? Tony has made plenty of money in his career, so I figure he'll part with some of it if only to finally put the matter to rest and get it off his mind.

Was talking to a friend of mine who goes to law school. He told me that Tony could very easily counter sue for defermation of character and have a really good case for it if he really cared about it.
