How can they still not manage to sort the track limits rules properly and consistently? Last week it wasn't really applied at all, this weekend it is, but only on certain corners. Just apply it to every corner on every circuit, I mean.....

ALONSO! !! Y U have no car to fight for wins ... :banghead:

You do have to wonder how Alonso and Button are feeling. On one hand the car is now roughly capable of the top 10 but still a good ~2.5s off the Merc pace, an eternity in F1.

Not the best timing. I'm sure the stewards will know if his lap was legal

Indeed, it's just not the first example of bad cuts by the director. Mind you I guess it's better than the usual cut to someone stood in the garage or on the pit wall.

Honda reckon that the RA616H is as goodas a 2015-spec Ferrari. When discussing Honda yesterday, Ted Kravitz reckoned that the stuff to look out for is the turbulent jet injection system used by everyone else; it could come later in the year, but if not, it will almost certainly be on the 2017 engine.

Rosberg has been called to the stewards after apparently breaching a qualifying rule regarding maximum time driving between the safety car lines.

Any news on if he's blamed Hamilton for it yet?
You'd only get that by deliberately slowing in the late part of the lap to try and pick your place for your flying lap. The only reason you would slow right down would be if the car in front was slow. I didn't get to see qualifying, so did the person in front of Rosberg block him?

Williams gets the win in England, Beating the powerful German!

(Serena with her Tennis Bat at Wimbledon)

Any more news on Nico, seems a bit harsh.

Same happened to Verstappen in Mexico I think and he didn't get a penalty.

WRT the Ericsson crash it looks like his right knee is what knocked the wheel off, must've hit the quick release mechanism. Shows the forces involved though, his knees coming that high and back into himself.

Impressive qualifying pace this year, good to see Lewis get pole under a lot of pressure. Slightly disappointed he didn't get into the 1:28's though, think he might have pushed harder if he didn't have his first Q3 time deleted.

The rule applies to an in-lap so it turned out there was no case for Rosberg to answer.

It's a pointless rule anyway, at least regarding qualifying. It was originally added when drivers would tip-toe back to the pits after quali to save as much fuel as possible for the race, so you had half a dozen or more slow cars trundling around. Now that is obviously not applicable, but the rule remained, when all that you really need is the other rule regarding blocking other cars on their hot laps. As long as you're not blocking, and Rosberg obviously wasn't, the lap time should be irrelevant.

Anyway no harm done, still got a nice prospect of two inter-team battles at the front.

The Mercs in an utter class of their own, destroyed the opposition. All Lewis has proved over the last 3 seasons is he's a bit better than Nico. This is why this GP is his for the taking. We really need some of the other drivers in cars more matched to Merc. You can dress it up how you like but it should be more than who will win "Nico or Lewis" IMO...

Ah, the ad hominem attack - the last resort of the man who cannot refute the argument that he is presented with.

Rosberg has an eleven-point lead. Ergo, he is the better driver.

Hamilton beat Rosberg 3 times out of 3 when they've been teammates. Ergo, Hamilton is the better driver.

I'm far from being a HAM fan, btw.

You know what?

I can't be bothered doing this. Lewis Hamilton is absolutely amazing and will win the race by fifteen laps because of his British Pluck. Nico Rosberg is a horrible person who probably bleaches his hair and is only in Formula One because his daddy was.

Erm... no

That's not how things work, this sport is much more complex than just those at the top are better, reliability and for a small part luck dictate the championship standings just as much as skill and being in the right car.

I'm not getting into an argument with you on this because as everyone can see you are delusional with regards to Hamilton (see last race in Austria...)

What I was doing was making a facetious remark about this delusional standpoint in all things Hamilton because some times it does come across as comical

I can think of eleven very good reasons as to why Rosberg is better ...
Over the last 3 seasons, there are a 115 very good reasons that state Lewis is better than Nico.

When someone is quite obviously trolling, what else can you do?

Did you also now think of 155 very good reasons as to why Lewis Hamilton is better? :sly:
