Okay I'm not going to cry conspiracy because that would be silly, but that virtual safety car seemed unnecessary considering Verstappen was right next to an exit road.
It pretty much ruined the race, gave the Mercs a free pit stop. Now they're ahead of Daniel on fresh tyres.
I thought that initially but then the crane was required, so it was justified. I don't want to see a crane on circuit, no matter how far away from the track itself, under racing conditions again.
Should VSC disable pitting in F1? I think so.
I've been saying this for years, the pit lane should be closed under SC and VSC. It shouldn't be affecting races and strategies any more than is necessary, which is the natural bunching up under full SC. Make the rule that you can't pit under SC or VSC to change your tyres unless they are damaged/punctured and they can prove if if need be.
