Not in 2014 at least, that was the year Josh Wise beat Danica because of RedditHaven't they done two for the last few years?
Larry, no... just no
The irony of this is that Dollar General (or atleast the one I went to during an RC race) feels like one of the most "NASCAR" stores I've ever been in. I guess they either needed a change, or the Brian France-ness got to them.
Ah, that'll do it. Here's hoping they go to the NHRA or GRC or somethingThere's new management at the top of the company this year. Youd be surprised how big of a difference it makes if the people running the company are fans or not.
The goal is to always have at least 20 cars in the field. With only fifteen drivers eligible based on the existing criteria, they needed to add five drivers from the open race.Just to bring back up the fan vote thing, do you think they would have selected two fan votes if Danica Patrick wasn't 2nd in that?

In years past, they have usually needed to add less drivers. Had Jeff Gordon not retired, we would have probably had one less segment winner, or only one fan vote winner.
It's a good thing McMurray qualified as a past All-Star Race winner from the past 10 seasons (2014), or we would have needed six drivers to add this year. And it looks like that'll be happening again with Stewart retiring.
I remember back in the day when only 1 driver got in via the Open. One chance. No fan vote. The goal is to always have at least 20 cars in the field. With only fifteen drivers eligible based on the existing criteria, they needed to add five drivers from the open race.
