They could just give an aero package like the ones from the late 90's to early 00's. Big ones will still happen by nature of the restrictor plate races, but if drivers have some control over everything by not being forced to lock on someone's bumper to advance, they could potentially go a little smoother (though in reality, that probably won't happen because restrictor plate racing).
 
Love you some Chase racing? Word has it that similar systems are being considered for the XFINITY Series and Trucks. The XFINITY Series will have 12 drivers eligible for the title, and the Trucks will start with 8 eligible drivers. All of this is according to what I've read from ESPN's Bottom Line. I'm sure if our RACECAR were NASCAR President (or even U.S. President), first thing he'd do would probably be to abolish the Chase format.

Anyhow... more Chase racing across the top three Touring Series- you love this or loathe this?

That has all been confirmed today by NASCAR after a month of rumors.

I really want a guy leading during a time caution to do a burn-out, just like how football players celebrate after a touchdown

Also i wished they'd used this firesuit when he ran the rainbows last year at bristol. Looks more neat

If I remember correctly the Busch Series also had a halfway break when they raced a Charlotte until the mid 90s.

I wouldn't know. I didn't pay much attention to the Busch series in the 90's.
 
If the caution clock was 30 minutes, and got rid of all yellow's besides mutlicar accidents, then I'd be 100% in favor of it

First year in the SuperTruck season and in the 1994 exhibitions. Not sure if they eliminated it in 1996 or 1997.
 
I think to a certain degree it makes sense to have the chase in the lower tiered series since they are supposed to be getting drivers ready for Cup racing. That being said, I would much rather they got rid of it instead of expanding it.

The caution timer is just plain stupid, it's like they heard all the complaints about there being too many cautions and thought "If they think there's too many now, wait until they see this!".:yuck:

Anyways, good job NASCAR, just when I was thinking of watching more due to the new aero package, you find a way to make me go back to completely ignoring the series outside of road courses and the 500*.


*At this point the only thing that makes the 500 worth watching is the lack of other racing action.

His career was on the way out as soon as he got to the Cup Series with Roush.

Roush was still one of the top teams when he was there, in fact he was often the only Roush driver that didn't make the chase.
 
Stenhouse's cup career is on par with his entire racing career. He only won the 2 championships in the Nationwide Series because he had no challenge from anyone and Roush's equipment there was some of the best stuff at the time.
 
And i was really looking forward to the trucks this year. Daniel hemeric, Cole Custer full time, Matt crafton trying to come back after losing the championship last year, Tyler reddick and that KBM lineup of young guns.

They'll get even more TV time now, so I guess that's a win for advertisers?

Truck Series is where GWCs got tested, so I'd expect this nonsense to bleed it's way into the Cup Series as well. 👎

I don't know I think this is just a trial run to see how it would work. It just makes every race a All-Star Race.
