19 winners in 2001. You definitely wont see that anymore. I looked back on RR and some of the winners. Michael Waltrip, Bobby Hamilton, Steve Park, Elliott Sadler and even Robby Gordon who finished 44th in the final standings while running for 3 different teams.

Two of those were winners frequently (plate tracks for Waltrip) due to having a solid package that was known as DEI. All in all if anything there was far less disparity at most tracks between cars than there is now. I'd also say the crop of drivers that were occasionally in the top running aren't nearly as good as those of today. So I think I can be glad I wont see a race where Elliott Saddler wins only to have John Andretti finish runner up...

I'm tried and I just skimmed this thread after not being on for about a week. Here's some stuff I'm replying to, most of which no longer being relevant

That said, it is funny to note that even [Jr.'s] slumps in the COT were better results then Danica's results as a whole.
Danica also doesn't need to go to rehab, unlike possibly Jr. circa 2009-2010 from what I've heard

I'd pick:

Red Byron
Ray Fox
Raymond Parks

Ken Squier
Mike Stefanik

Landmark Award:

Ken Squier

Bold should have been in already. How do you get this far into a HoF and not have the original owner/driver championship winners and one of the original engine builders?
Smokey Yunick should be in before Ray Fox. He won't be because NASCAR doesn't like Smokey (called Bill France Jr. dumb and Brian an asshole in his book)

Well that anthem was.....something
Robin Meade is terrible at singing the anthem. Did just as bad last year at another race

So let me get this straight- If the can was not engaged, that would have been legal, but since the can was engaged, it's illegal? Shouldn't both either be legal or illegal instead of one being legal and one being illegal? I get the safety interest, but that's a dumb rule.
But, but, NASCAR fixes races for the Toyotas, right?

A bloody FOAM CUP?! :banghead:
Fox screwed up showing it. That cup was not the caution, it was something that came off the 42 car.

It's obviously Joe Nemechek's fault
I'd do sad face but I'm on mobile

You know who also won a race in 2001?

Joe Nemechek.

:D
I'd do happy face but I'm on mobile

I knew someone would put that out there seeing that most people on this forum know my disdain for garbage
Please reply after you win an XFINITY Series championship, sir.

Yup, that book is gold too, a great read and absolutely hilarious :D

It isn't.

Edit: And with that never havong been reported, it comes across as libel and slander...
I'm not exactly reporting it or writing about it in an article. I'm talking about it on a forum.

I'm also not making it up. Libel is if I had said that without being told just that by somebody pretty close to the team back then, and then try to purposely dig them.

My point is that Danica can't even perform at the level of that, at the very least, a very unmotivated and distracted Dale Earnhardt Jr. It's not a dig on Jr., if anything it is a compliment.

Edit: for the record I've changed my OP to be what I meant to say. Had been up for about 20 hours by the time I wrote it

Yeah, because you can't actually prove it because no one would come forward and confirm it. At the very least it would be defamation.

No one is going to believe the unestablished reporter against NASCAR's most popular driver.

IF that was what you meant, then my apologies. It just came off as a dig.

It helps that he wasn't dumb and did anything hard, unlike a Mr. Mayfield.

Besides that I don't want it out. It's irrelevent overall and way in the past.

Anyway, now all Chad Knaus needs is to find a buyer

But he parked that race right? :dopey:
That was before he became the king of SNP when he finished a total of 7 of 128 races from '09-'11. The really sad part of all this is he is holding back his own son's career. Scroll back and you can see where I stated that JHN is a great talent. He then proceeded to win the race in a plain black truck. Why no sponsors? No smart businessman wants to deal with a sketchy guy like Joe Nemechek.

Or, you know, it a pretty big possibility that he does have sponsors because he's pretty new to the truck series, and nobody wants to put their name on a car with a driver wigh unproven talent. Look at Bubba Wallace for example. He can get results, yet nobody has decided to be on the hood for him, and it's certianly not because his family is washed up.

Oh my god this must be satire.

Name one time Joe has burned a guy doing business. He isn't Roger Carter.
He SNPed in Cup because he knows what he's doing. He'd be more competitive using the SNP Cup ride to finance his Nationwide team. So instead of running around multiple laps down in Cup, he was able to finish in the top 20 in NWide points every year from 2010-2014.
There's no problem with SNPing at all. You can't do it now in Cup because there isn't enough profit, but look at Furniture Row. In 10 years time, they went from an SNP part time team to the championship 4.

He has sponsors? So why are they not on his truck. As for being new, if you look at the Jayski results page every truck had some sort of sponsor except JHN

Brian France has endorsed Donald Trump. Not surprising since it's traditionally been a republican heavy sport, but they're doing a great job of driving people away from the sport.

Sorry, typo on my end. He doesn't have sponsors. Remember, we're talking about the truck series here. If you owned a multi-million dollar company that wanted to sponsor so.ebody, would you rather put it on someone that's been winning races for years, and continues to, or throw it on some guy that's only poped up in the last few years, with faultering equipment?

But in the truck series nobody wins for years. Unless you count career nobodies like Ron Hornaday Mike Bliss and Todd Bodine. I am surprised that Matt Crafton never went further, but I think he is satisfied in the truck series.

Career nobodies? Ron Hornaday is Hall of Fame nominee for 2017. I'd say that's a hell of an accomplishment in one's career.
