Damn, what a race. Here I was questioning why I watching and damn, I'm actually glad I watched. Surprised to find that this series has not once had to resort to overtime.

Guess it was more Larson than Busch, I posted it before his interview so I assumed he just spun his tires

That was one of the best races across all 3 series this year. I approve of this heat race format.
 
I know having KB win most of the time in lower series is boring at times and seems to argue against what the series is *supposedly* meant for, but I heard an argument that I think could hold water, and from the last few pages it looks like a few of you think similar to it already. Instead of keeping drivers from entering the lower fields, because lets face it the audience NASCAR, and the broadcasters as a result, seem to be aiming for probably don't know anyone beyond the top tier Cup guys, how about making the organizations run only one of the three national series? Are there absolutely massive loopholes here, yes, but you take the cup teams out of direct Xfinity competition, even if they choose to thinly veil whatever resulting team as something different, would that change anything in the long run?
 
I don't see how that would work at all. Jr. was saying that a lot of the major cup teams give support to the lower tier teams by assisting with tires and other items. If you take out the big teams, they'll lose assistance and won't be able to race. Then again, if you make a requirement of one series per team, they'll all run their own Jr. Motorsports for each respective division and we will then go on later to complain about satellite teams ruining the lower series. That doesn't even get into the fact that many sponsors won't throw money unless a top tier driver is in, and if you take the cup drivers and teams out of it, you could potentially kiss at least one or both of the lower tier national series goodbye.

If anything (stupid France decisions aside), a lot of the issues in truck and Nationwide are more due to financial hardship moreso than cup driver appearance issues. If businesses will begin to take chances and sponsor young unproven talent, there might be a decline in cup drivers because they won't need to be in to guarantee funding for the teams. BK himself said multiple times that he or Logano appear in truck races to ensure that his team has sponsorsip. Hell, even good drivers alone can't guarantee a ride today. Bob Vandergriff shut down his NHRA Top Fuel team this year because he lost the funding from his primary sponsor after the company abruptly pulled sponsorship. One of his drivers had won an NHRA national event this year as well before the team got shut down.

I agree with Bob. Don't waste the media's time by staging a meme when you can just as easily do that in the garage or somewhere else
 
What happens when you put about 40 stock cars around Bristol? You're about to find out once the green flag drops on this Cup race at Bristol day race. Good luck to all drivers and teams today at Bristol.
