Road courses have not been friendly to Keselowski during testing sessions. Didn't he break his ankle a couple years ago doing the same thing?

Think I just head in a video that that happened at Road America (or was it Road Atlanta...? Road Something...) He's been really stong in the races themselves, too. I don't think he's won at Watkin's Glen, though, unless I'm forgetting an obvious one. Ambrose has always taken it from him.

Yup,in 2011,'12 to Ambrose and '13 to Rowdy.

Road Atlanta test for Watkins Glen, plowed into turn 1 at a good clip. :scared:
 
Big Mouth Harvick loses Crew Chief for a lug nut violation and his own boss is the reason for such overzealous enforcement. When this happened to the 18 earlier in the year, people wanted him banned from NASCAR.

It used to be a lot worse, when Jimmie Johnson crashed in turn 1 at over 90mph in 2000, there was a guardrail, one row of tires, and foam blocks (which disintegrated on impact)

People are not going to die in the case of Brad's 80mph impact, we have more rows of tire barriers at the corner, HANS device, and stronger cars.
 
I think Watkins is one of the more dangerous tracks because of the speed at which you enter the braking zones, however it certainly isn't as bad as the plate races where cars are getting airborne into catch fences or travelling at 200 mph with 40 cars within a second of each other.

There has been some nasty wrecks at Watkins though, Like Newmans that brought out the Red Flag.


I don't think Brad is right in saying that out of a hundred people 1-2 would die in his wreck though.
