BAM!

Hope you all are enjoying the Sunday action. Right now, my prediction of the Texans losing at Green Bay is coming true. GB just scored a touchdown to make it 21-7 inside of 5 minutes left in the game. Yay.

Anyhow, enjoy the action today, tonight, and Monday night.

We failed, as I figured would happen. It was a 21-13 win for the Packers; but really, this game could have gone either way. Nobody really delivered any hard-hitting damage in this snowy game at the Frozen Tundra of Lambeau Field. It was fitting since the Texans' offense was fairly cold. Thankfully, it wasn't sub-zero offense for the Texans.

Up next... every remaining opponent is an AFC team, starting at the Indianapolis Colts next Sunday.

Congratulations to all other winners from this week, including the Baltimore Ravens grilling the Miami Dolphins well done in Baltimore, and the Detroit Lions beating dem' Saints in New Orleans.

Finally. The Lions finally won a game without being behind in the 4th quarter.

Huh. The Bengals won for the first time in over a month over the Eagles today.

FYI, Nugent missed yet another point after touchdown. And he had one hit the upright late in the game but still go through. I don't know what in the world has happened to him. It's like he's lost all confidence.

We get the Brownies next week, so it may be two W's in a row, something we have yet to do this season.

Yeah, you guys grounded the Philadelphia Eagles big time. Big time congrats to the Cincinnati Bengals.

First team "in" is the Dallas Cowboys by virtue of their [controversial] win at Minnesota followed by the Washington Redskins losing their game at the Arizona Cardinals. So the NFC East is locked up. ...or at least I think.

Prediction: Giants lose the rest of the games this year to finish 8-8 and out of the playoffs.

I could see the lions either getting 2 more wins and going 10-6 or losing the rest and going 8-8. Either way, I'm pretty certain that they'll lose to Dallas. Hopefully they beat the Bears though. They looked like trash the last time that they played Chicago.

Colts at Jets TONIGHT!

It's go time and show time tonight in the shadow of New York City as the AFC is in vogue. What we have tonight is the AFC South's Indianapolis Colts going to MetLife Stadium to clash with the AFC East's New York Jets. Or should I say... the J! E! T! S! Jets Jets Jets! The 5-6 Colts are currently 3rd in the AFC South while the 3-8 Jets are dead last in the AFC East. So this game is not exactly a heavyweight fight. However, if the Colts win tonight, this will set up a three-way tie for the AFC South lead. So Houston, Tennessee, and Indianapolis will all be tied for the AFC South lead if Indy wins tonight. WILL they win, though? We shall see tonight.

Favored by 1 in tonight's game is Indianapolis. 48.5 points is the Over/Under for this one.

Enjoy tonight's game if you'll be watching!

National Football League. Week 14 of 17. Time running out on playoff positioning. There's still sand at the top of the hourglass, but time is running out. Let's look at the premier matches this week:

* THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL WK. 14: OAK Raiders at KC Chiefs
* SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL WK. 14: DAL Cowboys at NYG Giants
* MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL WK. 14: BAL Ravens at NE Patriots

It was no wonder the New York Jets have so few wins. Indianapolis just went into MetLife Stadium and hammered the Jets like they were a college team. Indy probably thought the Jets were Rutgers. By virtue of their 41-10 victory and a loss by the Houston Texans, we now have a three-way tie in the AFC South. Houston, Indianapolis, and Tennessee (who were idle last week) are all 6-6. We (Houston) currently currently have the best division record at 3-0. Indy is 2-2 in the AFC South, and Tennessee is 1-3 in the AFC South.

Finally, some somber news... spare some thoughts for former Heisman winner Rashaan Salaam, who died at the age of 42 at a park in Boulder, CO. My condolences go out to all who known and loved him. I didn't report on it in my last post, but also spare thoughts for Joe McKnight.

Enjoy the new week of NFL football. Good luck to your favorite team(s).

We didn't win the division yet. If we win against the New York football Giants next week, we should secure the division. As things stand now, we can do no worst than a wild card.

EDIT: Here is our playoff scenarios by way of CBS:

- We can win the division next week with a win over the Giants.
- We can clinch a first-round bye with a win and a Detroit loss OR a Seattle loss.
- We can clinch home field throughout the NFC with a win and a Detroit loss AND a Seattle loss.

Not too long from now, it will be the Oakland Raiders at the Kansas City Chiefs. Two teams who have had awesome seasons clash tonight at Arrowhead Pond. AFC West in vogue tonight. Enjoy tonight's game should you be watching this contest.

Time to start another Sunday of NFL action. Enjoy the games, and good luck to your favorite teams.

It was a close shave as the Houston Texans won 22-17 at the Indianapolis Colts. There were a number of times when the Texans probably could have hit pay dirt more than they eventually did. Still... we'll take the win. We have now swept the Indianapolis Colts for the first-ever time in Houston Texans' franchise history as well as winning back-to-back games at Indy after never having won at Indy. So you bet I'm happy as a Texans fan. We are now 7-6 on the 2016 season, 4-0 in the AFC South.

Up next for the Houston Texans... back home to host the Jacksonville Jaguars next Sunday afternoon.

Congratulations to all other winners this week, including the Cincinnati Bengals further compounding the Cleveland Browns' woeful season in the battle for Buckeye State pride.

If Dallas wins tonight, we will not be seeded any worse than a number 2 seed. Seattle fell to the Packers 38-10.

Here are a few more musings of mine...

* Meanwhile in Los Angeles... standing atop all alone in total futility is just one game away now that the Atlanta Falcons destroyed the Los Angeles Rams 42-14. This loss to the Dirty Birds has tied Jeff Fisher (Rams coach) with Dan Reeves for the most losses by an NFL coach.

* At least LA has WON games this season, unlike Cleveland, who has yet to win. The Cleveland Browns lost again. That is what I made mention to from my previous post. They became the first team to start a season 0-13 since the 2011 Indianapolis Colts. Three more losses by Cleveland, and they will be the only other team to finish a season 0-16 since the 2008 Detroit Lions.

Most people probably don't care about either the Browns or the Rams, but if you care to see their remaining schedule to see if they can win again, here are the respective remaining schedules for LA and CLE (no dates):

LA (currently 4-9): at Seattle (THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL), San Francisco, Arizona
CLE (currently 0-13): at Buffalo, San Diego, at Pittsburgh

* The Texans' win at the Colts would have been better if Tennessee lost. Unfortunately, they didn't. The Titans took down the visiting Denver Broncos 13-10. A win for the Texans and a loss for the Titans would have made the Texans 7-6 on the season while both IND and TEN would have been 6-7. HOU, IND, and TEN all had 6-6 records heading into this week. Well out of the AFC South picture was Jacksonville, who lost today 25-16 hosting the Minnesota Vikings and fell to 2-11 on the season. Jacksonville is the Texans' next opponent playing here in Houston next Sunday.

* FOX shown bonus coverage of the Arizona Cardinals at the Miami Dolphins. Even with the brutal rainy conditions, the sun was shining on the Dolphins in the end as they won 26-23 on a game winning field goal from a short distance. The win for Miami, though, was bittersweet as Ryan Tannehill suffered a knee injury in this game.

* The New York Jets needed Overtime to defeat San Francisco 23-17. Not a great day for people in Santa Clara, CA.

That's all. Enjoy DAL at NYG tonight along with BAL at NE tomorrow night.

Well the Bengals avoided a letdown, keeping the Browns winless. Nugent missed a couple more kicks, though to be fair the weather didn't help. The first was an extra point attempt that Huber, the holder, couldn't get a grip on and was laying sideways on the ground when Nugent tried to boot it. Not Nugent's fault for once. He did legit miss a field goal at the end of the first half though. However it was snowing somewhat, not ideal kicking conditions. Still annoying to leave 4 more points out there.

I was legitimately shocked that the Giants' defense played so well last night. The offense on the other hand...

I read Jeff Fisher was fired as coach of the Los Angeles Rams. Jeff Fisher is looking at some serious futility in all the games he has lost as an NFL head coach.

Sorry I'm rather late, but...

Ravens at Patriots TONIGHT!

"It is not a playoff game... it just feels like one." ...or so ESPN says in hyping up this game. In vogue tonight is the AFC. We got the first-place (and 10-2) New England Patriots of the AFC East taking on the 2nd-place AFC North's Baltimore Ravens (7-5). Who knows? This may well be a playoff game. Who is to say these two may match up in the Playoffs? Regardless, it's going to be tough to play at the Patriots. Just ask my Texans that got destroyed on that one Thursday Night game. Will the Ravens have better luck against the big bad Patriots?

New England is favored on the line by 6.5, and the Over/Under is 44.5 points. So what do you think about this one?

Enjoy tonight's contest if you'll be watching BAL at NE.

Yeah hopefully this game is good tonight.

A thought on the Rams firing Fisher...SHOULD'VE DONE THAT 3 YEARS AGO. :p

I Pitta the fool! :) Always wanted to say that. All kidding aside, the Patriots defeated the Ravens tonight 30-23. Tom Brady throws for 406 yards and was 25 for 38 and three touchdowns. Maybe losing at the Patriots is as natural occurrence. Credit Baltimore for not letting this game become something like... you know, a 42-10 deficit or something. Love or loathe the New England Patriots- they get the job done. Now the Pats have the same record as the Cowboys- 11-2. Heck, some people probably will even call Dallas and New England to play in Super Bowl LI.

Hello to all of you NFL fans! Time is running out on the regular season, as we are now heading into the 15th week of NFL action. Here is a look at the prime time matches this week:

* THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL: LA Rams at SEA Seahawks
* SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL WK. 15: TB Buccaneers at DAL Cowboys
* MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL WK. 15: CAR Panthers at WAS Redskins

Yep. No Prime Time action featuring AFC teams this week.

Believe in the shield? The NFL shield? Well, because the NFL wants to take over the world and because they want to ram their awesomeness down the throats of others, the NFL will schedule four games to be played in the fabulous city of London, England, UK. This is the most games scheduled in London for a regular season. So apparently these games are too good to play in the United States. I'm not a "good old boy" on something like this. London is one of my favorite cities in the world. Anyhow, get ready to see these games to be played in London in the 2017 season:

* BAL Ravens vs. JAX Jaguars
* NO Saints vs. MIA Dolphins
* MIN Vikings vs. CLE Browns
* ARI Cardinals vs. LA Rams

Should be another interesting week of NFL football. The only team "in" at this point is the Dallas Cowboys. Maybe some more teams will get their playoff berths after this week of action.

Good luck to all of your favorite teams. Enjoy this new week of NFL action.

Here are some omissions from my previous post...

The Cincinnati Bengals let go of kicker Mike Nugent and added former Texan Randy Bullock. It happens to have a kicker who just seems off. I still remember when my Texans had Kris "Money" Brown... before "Money" went bankrupt trying to kick field goals. Points on the table and missed opportunities are two things any sports team does not want to deal with. Maybe this will help Cincy in special teams.

Speaking of ex-Texans, quarterback T.J. Yates is now a Miami Dolphin. I'm sure they picked him up to add some depth at QB after Ryan Tannehill went down this past week. T.J. Yates was literally the QB that gave the Houston Texans their first-ever playoff berth when we won at Cleveland. So I am kind of pleased for T.J. Yates to maybe give the Miami Dolphins a little boost in trying to make the playoffs this season.

So I ended up checking out Detroit's schedule. The Lions of MoTown are 9-4, and they'll be at the also 9-4 New York Giants this week. It is NOT going to be easy for Detroit. The Lions may have to win out and hope both Green Bay and Minnesota stub their toes just enough the rest of the way for Detroit to lock in a Playoff berth and maybe even win the NFC North. Remaining DET schedule: at NYG, at DAL (Sunday Night Football), and GB.

Something needed to be done. I don't know what happened to him, but I think he was up to 6 or more combined field goal and PAT misses this season.

I remember when the same thing happened to Shayne Graham. He was money. He had the highest percentage made with the Bengals for several years. Then all of the sudden he couldn't hit anything (unfortunately I was at the playoff loss against the Jets of the '09-'10 season...it was horribly cold, I couldn't feel my feet, and Graham shanked two field goals that day...ugh). He ended up at Houston not long after if I recall. I also remember Neil Rackers before him not doing a whole heck of a lot for the Bengals, then going to the Cards and becoming an Pro Bowl kicker.

Football is family. So let us all come together and enjoy some NFL football today and tonight. Enjoy today's action, and good luck to all of your favorite teams.

I don't know what the hell happened today here in Houston. We knocked off the Jacksonville Jaguars 21-20. The big story in this one was Brock Osweiler getting benched after throwing two interceptions. In his place? Meet Tom Savage- QB who played his college 'ball at the University of Pittsburgh. When he came on the field, the fans at NRG Stadium gave a huge ovation. As if to say, "FINALLY! We get to see Tom Savage take over for Brock Osweiler!" He had no problem gunning the football and finding open receivers.

Up next... I consider folks like Dolph Drago and Angel as good mates of mine. But this Christmas Eve, we're enemies because the Cincinnati Bengals are coming on down to H-Town to set things off against my Texans in prime time.

Congratulations to all other winners this week... which unfortunately doesn't include the Cleveland Browns, getting dropped hard at the Buffalo Bills.

Damn you Chicago for losing to GB and putting them in a spot where they can win the divison. Also, Damn you Detroit for losing today thus allowing the former to matter........

The Browns losing is about the only good thing that happened for Lions fans today.
