Vikings at Bears TONIGHT!

What's good, Chi-Town? Unfortunately, not the Bears this season. Monday Night this week is all about Midwestern hospitality from two teams that simply don't like each other as the NFC North is in vogue tonight. The Chicago Cubs are trying to win the 2016 World Series, while the 1-6 Chicago Bears (4th in NFC North) are trying to play spoiler against the formidable 5-1 Minnesota Vikings (1st in NFC North). Which of these rivals will become victorious? Find out tonight if you will be watching tonight's game!

Minnesota is favored by 5 tonight. The Over/Under is 40.5 points.

Really? Man... that makes two ex-Texans hanging it up. Arian Foster was surely great for my Texans. Andre Johnson was like a deity for the Texans. Heck, he basically WAS the Houston Texans before signing that deal to play for the Colts. If that's true, then best of luck to Andre Johnson in his retirement.

The calendar has changed to November. Here is a Standings update heading into this week's games. Where does your favorite team(s) rank from the standings so far?

--- AFC ---
AFC EAST: New England (7-1), BUF (4-4), MIA (3-4), NYJ (3-5)
AFC WEST: Oakland and Denver (6-2 each), KC (5-2), SD (3-5)
AFC NORTH: Pittsburgh (4-3), CIN (3-4-1), BAL (3-4), CLE (0-8)
AFC SOUTH: Houston (5-3), TEN (4-4), IND (3-5), JAX (2-5)

--- NFC ---
NFC EAST: Dallas (6-1), NYG and PHI (4-3 each), WAS (4-3-1)
NFC WEST: Seattle (4-2), ARI (3-4-1), LA (3-4), SF (1-6)
NFC NORTH: Minnesota (5-2), GB (4-3), DET (4-4), CHI (2-6)
NFC SOUTH: Atlanta (5-3), TB and NO (3-4 each), CAR (2-5)

Nobody has been officially eliminated or anything. So if your team is on the deep end, there is still some hope your team can bounce back. Yes- that even means the Browns (with LOADS of help) could still make the postseason as a Wild Card winner. It isn't realistic, but as we say, "stranger things have happened."

Let's look at this week's schedule of the more interesting games. Here they are:
* THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL WK. 9: ATL Falcons at TB Buccaneers
* SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL WK. 9: DEN Broncos at OAK Raiders
* MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL WK. 9: BUF Bills at SEA Seahawks

Teams off this week: Arizona, Chicago, Cincinnati, Houston, New England, Washington

Yeah... my Texans will be off this week. So all you other teams playing this week enjoy tackling each others' brain cells out while we sit back and enjoy. Okay? :)

Perhaps in my next post, I'll assess my Houston Texans. For now, get ready for a new week of NFL football.

How badly have y'alls mental playoff brackets been affected so far?

So far, my only major differences from the start of the season are Oakland and Dallas winning their divisions and the Ravens missing out.

I'll provide some assessments now.

The Houston Texans are 5-3 on the 2016 season. The Texans haven't been impressive on offense or defence this season. There isn't any explosive power on either side of the ball. Despite this, they have a winning record and they've won games. One person here on GTPlanet called my Texans going 8-8 this season. The optimist in me says we may get 10 or more wins. For that to happen, Brock Osweiler will need to be more accurate and not have as many mental lapses and inconsistencies. DeAndre Hopkins and C.J. Fiedorowicz have to keep delivering in the receiving game along with Will Fuller, and Alfred Blue has to continue asserting himself in the running game. The defense is still quite good even without J.J. Watt. I'm surely proud Jadeveon Clowney is asserting himself on defense. I also like players like Johnathan Joseph, Whitney Mercilus, Kareem Jackson, and A.J. Bouye on defense. I mean, J.J. Watt doesn't have to be the primary outlet on defense. It just means others have to step up, and they have. All I think will make the Texans better right now will be solid offense to match the solid defense. We'll see whether or not the Texans can deliver in the 2nd half of the season and possibly improve all around. Maybe even leaps and bounds improve.

And that's my take on the Texans. If you want to assess your team (or some other team), let's get your assessment(s). Otherwise, get ready for the Thursday Night game tomorrow night with Atlanta at Tampa Bay. Something tells me Tampa Bay could have some brutal-looking "Color Rush" uniforms (most teams do, though I liked the San Diego ones from their recent Thursday Night tilt). Anyhow, any of you want to assess your team(s)?

I read a article the other day, some guy in Cleveland was tweeting out on Halloween and warning other parents to watch out and check their children's candy bags, because someone was putting Browns tickets in them.
That is too funny.

So begins a new week of NFL Football. Atlanta at Tampa Bay is GO! This is an NFL-NBC deal taking over the Thursday Night Football coverage that NFL-CBS usually does.

Enjoy the action both today and tomorrow! Earlier today, I saw an amazing 95-yard pass play by Baltimore that ended up in a touchdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It was Joe Flacco to Mike Wallace.

Anyhow, good luck to all of your teams.

Lions win 22-16 in OT after Golden Tate showed some really amazing footwork to stay in bounds. The Browns got blown out and are still winless. Today is a good NFL day to me.

A few NFL musings coming up...

* Yeah. congratulations to the Detroit Lions on the 22-16 Overtime win at the Minnesota Vikings. However, what happened to the Minnesota Vikings? The Vikes went from [surprisingly] ballin'... to not-so-ballin'. Three straight losses for the Vikes. It certainly hurts dropping a game to a Division rival. Up next for MIN... at the Washington Redskins.

* Omnis' Dolphins took down the New York Jets 27-23 in this AFC East clash. It was a happy day if you're in Miami and love the Dolphins. MIA is now 4-4 while the Jets fall to 3-6 and remain in the AFC East basement.

* It was 21-14 in Baltimore as the Ravens took down the Pittsburgh Steelers. Big play in the 1st Half was a big pass 95-yard pass from Joe Flacco to Mike Wallace. Very good AFC North tilt here.

* 19-14 was the score in Kansas City, MO as the Chiefs tamed the Jacksonville Jaguars. Up next for the Jags is back home to host my Houston Texans next Sunday.

* Those of you hoping the Cleveland Browns would upset the Dallas Cowboys... your wild dream was an absolute nightmare. Like, a 35-10 nightmare as Dallas cruised to a win. Cleveland actually struck first with a field goal. So the Brownies are now 0-9. Some think the Browns will be the first winless team since the 2008 Detroit Lions. Who honestly can Cleveland defeat with this remaining schedule (dates not posted): at Baltimore, Pittsburgh, New York Giants, Cincinnati, at Buffalo, San Diego, and at Pittsburgh? Heck the 2016 Browns could even lose to Michigan State, Notre Dame, Oregon, and Florida Atlantic.

Congratulations to all other winners this week, including the eventual winner of my "Game of the Week" between the Denver Broncos at the Oakland Raiders.

With Baltimore knocking off Pittsburgh, the Bengals are now only a win/tie behind the division lead or whatever you want to call it, at 3-4-1. What has happened to this division? The AFC North has put 3 teams into the playoffs a few times in the past couple of years. And this season? Two teams at 4-4, the Bungles at 3-4-1, and of course we know about the Browns. Crazy.

We have an insanely hard schedule this year.

Saints 4-4 with a 41-20 win vs the 49ers. Brilliant. Especially with our relative lack of defensive quality and start to the season.

Bills at Seahawks TONIGHT!

Welcome to the Pacific Northwest! Welcome also to Seattle, Washington. The Emerald City will sparkle like diamonds with this "East Meets West" tilt tonight. We got the Buffalo Bills going thousands of miles west to meet the Seattle Seahawks. Both teams have four wins. Buffalo is currently 4-4 and 3rd in the AFC East, and Seattle is leading the NFC West with a 4-2-1 record. Who will get their fifth win or the season? Or could another tie be in order maybe?

Seattle is favored on the line by 6, and the Over/Under for this game is 43 points.

Enjoy this game should you check into this game!

Halftime was 28-17 in favor of Seattle. Thirty minutes later? It was Seattle defeating Buffalo 31-25. All congratulations not only to Seattle, but also to all winners from Week 9.

I would be a bit remiss to not mention Antrel Rolle announcing his retirement after 11 seasons in the NFL. Yep. He's hanging up his pads, helmet, and cleats after his solid service. I wish him well in his retirement.

It is now double-digit weeks in this NFL season, as we are now in Week 10. Here are some of the matches this week:

* THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL WK. 10: CLE Browns at BAL Ravens
* SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL WK. 10: SEA Seahawks at NE Patriots
* MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL WK. 10: CIN Bengals at NYG Giants

Teams not playing this week (Bye week): Buffalo, Detroit, Indianapolis, Oakland

So we begin the week with one Ohio NFL team, then end the week with the other Ohio team. Enjoy Week 10, GTPlanet.

The new week of NFL football begins tonight. Can the Cleveland Browns finally win a game when they go on the road and entertain the Baltimore Ravens? We shall see.

Good luck to all of your team(s) this week.

Rise and shine, boys and girls! It's another Sunday of NFL football! Good luck to all of your team(s).

So the NFL has told all the teams to not comment on players in a concussion protocol:

Jesus 🤬 christ no wonder the NFL is getting low ratings recently. Rodger Godell is the Brian France/Bernie Ecclestone of this league literally :banghead:.
I think the NFL should ban social media use by all teams until they can figure out a policy for it's entire usage. Sure you will see a huge drop in the beginning but how will that differ than what slippery slope they are on now?

Back in action were my Houston Texans as we paid a visit to the Jacksonville Jaguars. We were out to entertain some cats in Jacksonville, Florida. The game wasn't pretty in the least sense. We still managed to win 24-21. A few factors for the Texans was a pick-six by the Texans to lead 7-0 early. Two missed field goals by Nick Novak could have given the Texans a bigger cushion. However, the Texans "D" still managed to hold serve for us to finally win one on the road. I'll hand it to Jacksonville- Blake Bortles made a surprise touchdown pass late to bring the margin to five, followed by a two-point conversion to bring it to three. But again, we held on barely to win this one. Winning doesn't have to be pretty- you just have to win.

Up next... we're going to take on the Oakland Raiders next Monday Night in Mexico City, Mexico.

Congratulations to other winners from this week's game. How did your boys do this week?

Falcons let me down today. Julio Jones missed a few important catch's and that last Falcons drive, he gave it away!
