Some good news for AJ Green. It's just a strained hamstring. He may only miss a couple weeks. On the other hand, Gio Bernard evidently got hurt on one of the plays on the final drive, apparently tearing his ACL and is out for the season. Awesome...

Dallas' remaining Schedule:

Nov 24 Washington (6-3-1) D
Dec 1 @Minnesota (6-4)
Dec 11 @N.Y. Giants (7-3) D
Dec 18 Tampa Bay (5-5)
Dec 26 Detroit (6-4)
Jan 1 @Philadelphia (5-5) D

D=Divisional opponent

If we beat our divisional opponents, then we win the division. If we get to 11-1, we win the division. The Giants would need to run the table to keep pace.

Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy the NFL action today and tonight!

On right now is the Minnesota Vikings at the Detroit Lions. MIN just tied the game on a 5-yard TD by M. Asiata. 33 seconds left in the 1st Quarter as of this post.

Lions win in the most Lions way possible. 30 seconds left, interception, kick field goal. One of these days their luck is going to run out.

Yeah, I saw that finish, Joey D. Close games are second nature to the 2016 Detroit Lions, seems like. Having close games either means you are not winning by much, but you aren't losing by much either. Detroit has yet to completely stomp on a team or get stomped on themselves. Not one game decided by more than seven points so far.

Rest of the 2016 Detroit Lions' schedule, in case you're interested:
* Dec. 4, 2016: Chicago
* Dec. 18, 2016: at New York Giants
* Dec, 26, 2016: at Dallas (Monday Night Football)
* Jan. 1, 2017: Green Bay

The Washington Redskins at the Dallas Cowboys is going on at present. It is currently 24-19, Dallas with 9:22 left in the game. Steelers at Colts will be the nightcap on NBC at 8:30 PM EST.

Not going to lie- I thought the Lions were going to lose so I was pleasantly surprised to see them win.

Enjoy today's games as well as tonight's match between Kansas City at Denver.

From getting screwed in Mexico City, the Houston Texans return home to lose 21-13 to San Diego. It was just a disappointing effort from a team that really lacks any kind of offensive fire. They'd better get it together QUICK because at Green Bay is next for the Texans. This is part of a two-game road trip for the Texans which includes at Green Bay followed by at Indianapolis. We REALLY need to get it together after back-to-back fails.

Congratulations to all other winners from this week's games, including Buffalo helping pad the Texans' AFC South lead a bit by defeating the visiting Jacksonville Jaguars.

I only saw the end of the Ravens' first drive (which resulted in a touchdown) and the last few minutes of the Bengals game at Baltimore. We got a field goal late to get within 3. Then on the last drive Dalton was having passes knocked down at the line left and right. I wonder if he may have set a record for passes knocked down on a single drive. Naturally it ended with us driving down the field, then Dalton getting hit and fumbling the ball away. Very Bengal-esque finish.

And I could be wrong, but I think Nugent missed yet another extra point. That makes him 0-3 in the past two games. Yes, on EXTRA POINTS, not field goals. I know they moved it back this season, but c'mon!

Packers at Eagles TONIGHT!

In the City of Brotherly Love, the NFC is in vogue tonight. Both teams are in the bottom half of their respective divisions. Green Bay is 4-6 and 3rd in the NFC North. Meanwhile, Philadelphia is 5-5 and last in the NFC East. So tonight's game is not exactly a heavyweight fight between two contenders. Who will come through this one with the win?

Philadelphia tonight is favored by 4. The Over/Under is 47.5 points. Whomever or whatever you choose, pick wisely.

This is Week 13 of NFL Football. This week's prime time games are...

* THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL WK. 13: DAL Cowboys at MIN Vikings
* SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL WK. 13: CAR Panthers at SEA Seahawks
* MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL WK. 13: IND Colts at NYJ Jets

Now things are going to get serious. Why so? One word- playoffs. This is where the playoff pressure gets critical. If you want your favorite team(s) to continue their season, you'd better hope they keep winning to help their cause. It is also where you may have to start caring about teams you otherwise don't care less about. For example, you may hope as a Chiefs fan that the Raiders stumble just enough so that Kansas City could overtake Oakland in the AFC West or hope some other AFC teams lose to help your Wild Card cause.

Yahoo! Sports posted this article on what all the teams need to reach the postseason this season. Check it out: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nfl-pl...s-what-to-reach-the-postseason-044239713.html

Don't go suing Yahoo! just because you're a Browns fan and that they didn't list the Cleveland Browns' playoff chances (mini spoiler alert). A few teams aren't even listed because of their inferior seasons.

Here is a Standings update. Where does your favorite team(s) stand at present?

--- AFC ---
EAST: New England (9-2), MIA (7-4), BUF (6-5), NYJ (3-8)
WEST: Oakland (9-2), KC (8-3), DEN (7-4), SD (5-6)
NORTH: Baltimore and Pittsburgh (6-5 each), CIN (3-7-1), CLE (0-12)
SOUTH: Houston (6-5), TEN (6-6), IND (5-6), JAX (2-9)

--- NFC ---
EAST: Dallas (10-1), NYG (8-3), WAS (6-4-1), PHI (5-6)
WEST: Seattle (7-3-1), ARI (4-6-1), LA (4-7), SF (1-10)
NORTH: Detroit (7-4), MIN (6-5), GB (5-6), CHI (2-9)
SOUTH: Atlanta (7-4), TB (6-5), NO (5-6), CAR (4-7)

There you go. It's time to keep this rock rolling. Keep pushing forward to help your playoff cause.

Good luck to all of your favorite teams... and maybe your least favorite teams in helping your favorite teams' playoff causes.

[UPDATE] Forgot to include ties! Changes made.

I would say Houston underwhelms me the most, and then the Ravens. At least Detroit keeps it interesting by losing all but the last 30 seconds of each game.
Well, Detroit's biggest ally this year is the fact that the NFC North is arguably one of the worst divisions in the NFL. The Bears are a dumpster fire, the Vikings are a crapshoot, and the Packers are shockingly underwhelming considering that they should be the best team in the division due to the talent on that roster.

I don't entirely believe in my Houston Texans, but I haven't given up on them. I sure as hell won't root for the Titans or *queasy feeling* the Cowboys. The Texans just need better offensive production and better chemistry. The defense for the Texans shouldn't relax their guard. If this team can get hot, maybe then I'll start to further believe in this Texans squad. That's even if the Texans decide to turn Tom Savage loose if Brock Osweiler has another clunker either at Green Bay or at Indianapolis. Hmm... "turn Tom Savage loose." Doesn't sound very pleasant...

I forgot to mention that Cleveland has their Bye week this week, so they can't lose (or win) this week. Even for teams I don't like, I NEVER want a team to go winless. If Cleveland loses out, and in the spirit of "misery loves company," they'll join the 2008 Detroit Lions as the only other NFL team to go 0-16 in a season. And you can probably set up a "dream match" to determine which is the worse 0-16 team if the 2016 Cleveland Browns finish 0-16. You can call it the "Toilet Bowl" or something. Again- that's IF Cleveland goes winless.

Anyhow, get ready for Dallas at Minnesota tomorrow night.

Pretty sure Cincy is 3-7-1. It doesn't matter since our playoff hopes are done unless we start doing well with key players injured and everyone else starts sucking.

I updated the recent standings to include ties (which I completely forgot!). Two interesting things I want to make note of. Feel free to chime in if you like.

There is one report that after next season, a decision could be made on doing away with Thursday Night Football. Either get rid of the games, or adjust them to some degree. More games mean more money. I am not sure what to make of this. How about you?

When I watching CBS Sports Network show "Time to Schein" earlier this week, host Adam Schein mentioned that Jeff Fisher (L.A. Rams coach) is only three losses away from surpassing Dan Reeves for most losses all time by an NFL coach. Fisher currently has 162 losses as part of his current 173-162-1 record. Dan Reeves' record is 190-165-2. He'll have to lose only three more games to tie Dan Reeves, and four to be all alone in having the most losses by an NFL head coach. I don't know who wants to be proud of carrying the record of having the most losses by a head coach. But if he ends up getting that dubious distinction, he'll be the flag bearer for mediocrity and futility.

I meant to discuss these things long ago, but never did until now. So that is good for discussion's sake.

Can the Minnesota Vikings tame the Dallas Cowboys tonight? The Vikes will do their best to try to hold down the 'Boys from Big D (or "Little D" as a Houston sports announcer calls it). Anyhow, go enjoy some Thursday Night Football tonight!

With Sunday and Monday Night Football already a thing, having Thursday Night Football seemed like overkill. I was fine with Thanksgiving Thursday and another one here or there, not every week. Plus that would be one less likely day of the week where the Bengals would play in primetime, which means they wouldn't be embarrassed on national TV like they always are.

Hey now, one of our three wins came on a Thursday.

Maybe (and heavy emphasis on the maybe) people would care about TNF if the NFL didn't schedule crap games for it all the time. It sounds like the Cowboys/Vikings was a good one, but for the most part, the Thursday games have been pure duds.

Good. Having only Tuesday, Wednesday, and if you don't follow high school, Friday off from football is not enough. The games need to be special. I don't even like Monday night football to be honest, but at least that one is only 1 day apart. Thursday night football screws up teams all over the place. They're supposed to be recovering on Thursday, not playing another game. This is not baseball, you can't play games every day. They need a week to recover from the game before going out and smashing heads again.
