Only change to Penske is the addition of Simon Pagenaud.

Justin Wilson doesn't have a ride but he is rumored for KVSH.
Almost every free agent has been rumored for KVSH though so who knows.

March 8th could be used for either a test session or an exhibition race

Boo! We want an actual race! Otherwise I'll watch the entire season on a black/white t.v and fuzzy screen so I cant see the sponsors! Ha

I'd be okay with an exhibition.

Deleted for PC delay double post

COTA is out of the question because Eddie Gossage would throw a tantrum because it's "too close to Texas Motor Speedway". Bad enough he threw a fit when the F1 race was scheduled on the same weekend as the Texas NASCAR race.

Does anyone actually like Cota though?

It's a good international motorsports facility, but I don't think it'll make for a good Indycar race.

Personally I think there is better places to watch racing, for all categories,

Watkins Glen didn't work for Indycar.

They should just put on a race on the short Sebring layout that they test on. Only slight issue with that is the timing with the 12h race just a couple weeks later which may or may not get in the way of preparations for that endurance.

Road Atlanta?
Owned directly by IMSA, so most likely not. Atlanta Motorsports Park, or Texas World Speedway is the odds, neither of which look inviting. Laguna Seca won't work because IndyCar feels that their cars are too wide (I tend to believe them.)

Why would IMSA prevent a race happening there?

I was thinking the same thing earlier today. Just race at Sebring. 👍 You're right though about why they probably wont.

So Justin Wilson could end up at Andretti? That would be cool, he'd finally get a shot in a big team.

Since indycars are much more similar to each other, I think COTA would provide very exciting races (F1 has some good races there and their cars are far different even within the series). If only the TX Speedway owner wasn't so paranoid...

COTA is awful with F1. It's the most uncreative track in North America. And since its premier events are F1, WEC, and USCC which all carry insane ticket prices, I wouldn't bother with it. Even so, it's unlikely anything outside of Florida will even be remotely possible. Sebring or Palm Beach, pick your poison.

In the interest of road courses, I reckon I could gather enough orange traffic cones to finish off the Adelaide street circuit for indycar, hospital is just across the road, police will attend when they hear them roar, I think that's everything covered :p
Adelaide won't be interested. The full circuit actually cuts off a pretty significant arterial road into the city centre, and V8 Supercars would oppose it because the event could upstage their own event.

Sadly I think Briscoe in indycar is done, he needed a win last year and just never got it, and got slapped by Montoya out who he really should have beaten,
He still has major ties with the biggest people in the sport its all about sponsorship these days

As someone who lives in Adelaide, the only reason we lost the GP was because the state liberal government would give that Walker guy? A pay rise that the Victorian state government did, otherwise Adelaide would welcome such an event, just not January through March,

You must have forgotten about ALMS race of a thousand years, the ALMS stopped that because of the cost to come over, otherwise would have still continued on,

The ALMS race was over a decade ago.

The Adelaide race is a V8 Supercar event first and foremost. It's one of their most popular races. They won't agree to any event that threatens their position.

They will if it will generate more money, though you are correct, given that Clipsal has the most people through the gates over the weekend then any other event here in Australia, its tough to beat, however, if it was held later in the year, say around August to November, and could provide a turn over within 25% of the clipsal 500, they would,

They are looking for more races to put on the bill for the weekend as well, given that indycar doesn't require that excessive amout of lighting to race like Singapore GP, theoretically an Indycar night race isn't such an insane idea, doubtful nontheless,

The last night street course race I seem was nowhere what Singapore is
I don't think IndyCar would run anything outside ovals in night time.
