Qualifying for the Louisiana Grand Prix is about to happen shortly. Let's hope the front wings hold together better here than they did at St. Petersburg, especially among the Honda cars.

Tell you what, GTPlanet... I dig this NOLA Motorsports Park course. I think it was Paul Tracy who said this course sort of reminds him of Portland International Raceway. The two are similar as both are almost completely flat. Throw a lot more money at NOLA Motorsports Park and add a bunch more facilities, this could be a real fancy pants racing facility that could host some big races. Maybe even imagine the track hosting something like a 1000-kilometer race or a good six-hour endurance. I like this course. That's why I'm looking forward to the race tomorrow.

One thing though... those Firehawk rain tires and those aerokits really suck a ton of water off the track. I don't know how any of the drivers could see anything with all the spray in the air.

thats a bad call?

or do you mean disallowed his fastest time?
They disallowed his fastest time and instead of making it to the next round he was put at the back of the field. But, weather cancelled qualifying so it's a moot point now.

Live coverage of the Indy Grand Prix of Louisiana starts today at 2:30 PM EDT on NBCSN!

The race is being pushed up to 2:45 ET to take advantage of a gap in the rain storms. The track officials had to use a snow plow to move water off the track this morning.Another potential issue is if the medical helicopter will be able to take off once the storms hit.

One of the Mazda Road to Indy series had their race cancelled earlier, and Indycar warmup had been delayed because of that weather as well. Most of the schedule for today, outside of the Indycar race had been pushed up by an hour.

I am really disappointed, a snow plow in Louisiana plowing water and nobody had enough sense to take a picture.

Would have been a sight to see. During Practice 3 yesterday, Derrick Walker was on the air with Paul Page for a stint, and he mentioned that the drivers got angry at him for making the call to dry the track the day before because they wanted to get practice in the wet since there was going to be rain each day. Said that normally you have to bribe the drivers to get them to drive on a wet track.

Edit: TV coverage has started, and cars are currently on track running recon/system checks.

What were the lap times in the warm-up?

How are Indycar with Track limits? Most guys not trying that hard to keep it in the lines at Turn 1.

Derrick Walker explained that yesterday as well. They wanted to limit them, but then realized the drivers were going to run turn 1 wide so they told them to just drive it where they wanted to.
