That's fair enough too, but still I fail to see how it was avoidable without leaving himself wide open to an attack, or physically becoming stationary in pit lane, like this is a motor race,

He was open to attack, he was coming out of the pits at a reduced speed, as you said it's racing. He should have stayed to the outside, Sato would have passed him and he would have had to run him down and pass him back...more racing 👍
 
Power didn't see him and caused a wreck. It looked really bad on tv. I see why he was penalized

Honda kept the side pod concept and Chevy kept the wing concept. I can already hear the Chevy drivers calling in saying the car is loose.
 
Chevy will have the speed in quali but I think the Honda will hold its tyres better throughout the stint as it looks to have a lot more downforce. Of course this is all speculation

What was wrong with last year? I thought it was pretty good, decent amount of passing and not too many yellows.

We're talking about 2014, right? The oval races were horrible. It all boils down to two things: 1) too much fuel saving involved and 2) too hard to follow in another car's draft. The way practically everyone settled to a funeral procession with ~0.5 second gaps after just a few laps at Milwaukee really sums it all up.
 
I was talking about Indy specifically. The other oval races while I wouldn't call terrible weren't great.

Now the Road races are debris fests and the aero kits make it incredibly hard to pass.
 
I'm not an aerodynamic expert by any means but that Chevy looks like it'll produce way too little rear downforce.
 
They run as little downforce as possible on the rear as it is at Indy.
 
I think the great thing is that the Indy aerokit's show the most obvious diversity, and at Indy that's a great thing to have back again. :gtpflag:
