Yeah, but there are some pretty major hurdles to overcome.

So saying, it would be truly awesome to see him try! I'd root for him if he did!

May I ask exactly what hurdles for a man who with prothestic legs, just completed a 24 Hour race?
Yeah I think he's more than qualified for a 500 mile race at an oval like Indy. I think with the right car controls fitted to the DW12 he could easily do it.

Here is the remaining schedule for the 2015 Verizon IndyCar Series:

--- Remaining Schedule ---
* Aug. 2: Mid-Ohio
* Aug. 23: Pocono
* Aug. 30: Sonoma

That's right. With a lot of other series with races in September (and even into November), here is the final month of IndyCar Series racing in 2015. Time to make your move if you still have a chance at the championship.

This weekend will be the IndyCar Series at Mid-Ohio. No matter what vehicles race around this track, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is one of the most entertaining and challenging courses in America. I've first seen it mostly used with (then) CART and also as the venue for the SCCA Runoffs as I was learning about racing. This track is challenging for almost any machines that race on it. Doesn't matter if it's Indy cars, stock cars, sportscar racing, motorcycles, certain other formula cars, or whatever... Mid-Ohio is a great challenge.

I'm sure a certain Juan Pablo Montoya will want to get the taste out of his mouth at the fail he experienced at Iowa in the previous round of the championship. It is the penultimate road course of the 2015 championship.

I did not realize how much in the way of legs he has. If he has been racing, and especially successfully, then there won't be much to it besides making sure he can manipulate the controls. Thanks for the clarification. :)

He was also doing some racing in the Blancpain Sprint Series as well.

Good for him! Wow! I figured it would be hand controls. It's still an interesting thought to see him try Indy, though.

Ugh... :ouch:

I can't believe this. Can we just give already and try starting fresh? This is just sad...Formula 3 series' have more luck than these chumps. :banghead:

Somebody...PLEASE SAVE INDYCAR FROM THIS SLOW DEATH! :guilty:

He uses hand controls. He's done the 24H of Spa, as previously mentioned. He's raced WTCC, he tested a Champ Car in 2002 after recovery from the accident where he lost his legs. He's tested a few other race cars as well.

Doesn't he have to be able get out of the car within a certain amount of time? Is the 2002 test you are referring to the one where he completed the laps at Lausitz? That would be amazing if he could race indycar again, but getting out of an indycar during an emergency is different than a GT.

Does Walker leaving give Barnhart more control? I hope not. :sick:

Edit: Also guess I missed it earlier but I'm happy Road America is back next year! Again one step forward two back. It's tough being an indycar fan.

Yeah, that makes sense. I asked the wrong question. What I meant was him being able to get out in the required time in a indycar compared to a gt. I remember this being an issue for him years ago, but I guess it isn't anymore. Cool. 👍

Honestly it's probably easier to shove yourself up out of Formula car than to pull yourself out of a GT (not to mention that DTM car he tested). Plus the Holmatro Safety Team has the reflexes of a cat so there's that in an emergency as well.

In the last 5 years, I can only think of one time where they weren't in control of a situation immediately.

Time to whip this out again.

In the 8 previous races in the Dallara era Ganassi has 7 wins. Dixon with 5, Kimball and Dario with 1 each. The list of previous active winners is pretty small after that with JPM in '99, Helio '00 and '01 and Briscoe in '08.

Well going by practise times this could be a decisve race in the championship, Dixon and Rahal are 1st and 4th in times, and Montoya is 21st.

Getting your setup sorted after some bad sessions can prove to be really difficult in this series.

It's only qualifying and this kid is screwing things up.

Yeah. I had mixed feelings about what he did at Iowa (between the dangeriously close racing and Ed complaining again), but this was just...unnecessary. If you're just coming back on the track, get way off the racing line. Don't be in the way.

So will TK or Dixon move to the Ford GT program opening up a seat for Newgarden?

I'm not sure thats happening, if anything its more likely Scott Maxwell will be part of that since he's basically a longtime Multimatic Driver.

Edit: And Scott Dixon is on full beast mode today.

RA 👍
Phoenix 👍
Mexico City 👍
Laguna 👍

Nascar has the March 11-13, 2016 listed as the probable date so they will want a couple of weeks separation. Easter is March 27 and the St.Pete round is likely moving up two weeks http://www.tampabay.com/news/busine...-2016-grand-prix-local-businesses-are/2239578 so I would look the first weekend in April at Phoenix.

My 2016 opening schedule
2-21 Mexico City
2-18 Laguna Seca
3-13 St.Pete
4-3 Phoenix
4-17 Long Beach (date is all but confirmed already)
4-24 Barber
5-8 Indy GP
5-29 Indy 500

then fill in these dates
Milwaukee
Detroit
Texas
Toronto
Road America
Iowa
Mid-Ohio
Sonoma
Boston
Fontana
