Then we might get IndyCar races around the world and TV deals in the UK. (I don't mean BT Sport/ESPN)

It is sanctioned. But IMS run it, as GTPorsche pointed out.

I wouldn't exactly think it would automatically make it better (As people who watched F1 in 2007-2008 will tell you)

Also, this this seems to be your general reaction to any series that doesn something you don't like (TUSSC being the main one)

The Racing is Brilliant don't get me wrong, but the Management Direction has no ability to capitalize on it and keeps making things worse.

The person responsible for bringing this Chassis(the Aero upgrades where part of the deal long term) and therefore the brilliant racing that followed with it, Randy Bernard got fired long time ago.
 
FIA doesn't run Blancpain. SRO does.

Edit: Come to think of it, the ACO run the WEC as well, which technically means is a joint effort and not entirely FIA.

That would literally mean that only F3 and F1 are the only ones mentioned here that the FIA actually runs.

Pretty sure its a joint effort, Lets not forget that the series IS based around/on a event run BY the ACO (as is the ELMS) so "Partially" hardly describes it :p
 
Does FIA even properly sanction IndyCar?

it seems as though everything is done by IMS themselves.

FIA is still better than these jokers here in the states. The France family makes stupid decisions for NASCAR and borderlines trying to wreck the TUSCC at times with the lack of love they show it and IMSA. And Indycar's ownership is trash as well. North American racing is put in jeopardy because of these morons.

The FIA isn't that bad, F1 isn't even truly run by them anymore...look...let's have the SCCA saction it. :lol:

RHR said in the post-race interview he was told about JW not being responsive and that's all RHR said.

Not trying to be tasteless, just realistic, if he's unresponsive, prepare for the worst, but I personally don't think it is fatal
 
Got to the track around 1 PM or so. They put us in the back parking, which meant we would have an easier time getting out once the race was done, but... no autographs this time.

Seats we had were really good, high up in Row 45, section 238 (closer to the third turn) - which didn't get hit by the sun at all. Another good thing, since I forgot sunblock...

Had the scanner out and set it to Sato's frequency for pretty much the entire race; was interesting to figure out what changes the team were making with the wings and such. Plus, they did have to change the entire fueling equipment as it was giving them trouble early on. A big part of why I like going to the races themselves; actually knowing the reason behind why someone would make 3+ stops under the same yellow (the fueling equipment issue in Sato's case.)

Absolutely gutted for Chaves. Was driving a fantastic race, although I did hear when he was leading the field he was giving the other drivers fits...

Happy that Sato was able to get a good result after how bad he was in the early goings. A win would have been nice, but I've got a suspicion that all the changes that the team made to allow him to get through traffic kinda screwed him over once he got to the lead; old tires don't help, either.

Worried about Wilson; the worst bit was when the ambulances made a wall between them and the medivac helicopter; that's when I knew this was a serious incident.
I didn't get to see a replay (the track didn't show one) and I'm not going to go look for/at one, either.


(The tickets were cheaper than the hat!)

As far as I could tell, they were moving with some degree of speed, but I got the sense they were also being very careful - reportedly, the heli didn't lift off until he (Wilson) was fully stable, which otherwise would be gross neglect on their part.

Was this coma induced? I thought that Bianchi was put into a coma by doctors.
 
Worse than I thought, hope he has a speedy recovery.
