So much for the F1 ladder system, GP2 drivers will fill the last 3 rows.:O
Not like they're in good cars. Dale Coyne Racing hasn't been good since Justin Wilson in 2014, and that 4th Andretti car is actually an underfunded and lesser engineered Bryan Herta car. Not exactly the best of the field.

Makes you wonder doesn't it? :p

*Disclaimer: I do understand these cars are very different. Bit heavier, more aero, no power steering, more power and higher competition* :p
It's more the tires actually, qualifying was the first time any of the rookies got to use the Red tires. That would put you at a bit of a disadvantage to the guys who have run them for years.

Just saw a driver throw away his race trying to get 11th with a couple laps left in the Indy Lights race.

JPM crashed at the end of warmup and looked to have hurt his left hand in the process because he didn't pull his hands off the wheel fast enough. Haven't seen any update on him because all the focus has been on Power.

Edit:

Wow that sucks for Power, he didn't seem like his usual self during interviews yesterday.

12:52pm approximately for green flag. All of the support races, except the first USF2000 race have been great. Looking forward to this one kicking off. There's a chance it might rain as well.

Cheever and Goodyear, please retire.

And it took Cheever all of one sentence to blurt out how the GP of St. Pete prepares the drivers for the Indy 500.
Because the only race that matters is the Indy 500 according to him, the whole rest of the season is just practice races.

"To me that's everything"
There ya go.

>A whole host of American race car drivers that could be competitive.
>Camera shows Rahal and RHR.

I'm pretty sure those are the only two Americans that are capable of winning the championship.

How's the crowd size compared to previous years?

Success! Marco got through turn 1 without doing a barrel roll.

Edit: I see ABC is sticking with the 4:3 overlays.
And an "updated" graphics package that looks... odd.

Going to make an effort to watch more races this year, the only 3 I watched last year were the 500, Pocono & Sonoma

And an "updated" graphics package that looks... odd.
Even worse is the Sportscenter ticker at the bottom is twice as large as the Indycar display at the top.

How about it, boys and girls? The 2016 season is go! Great seeing this series back in action.

Good luck to all drivers and teams this season and for today's race.

Is the side-by-side screen larger this year or the same?

Helio making a big train.
