Sadly yes. Oh well, at least Indycar CEO Mark Miles isn't endorsing Presidential Candidates or pushing through ridiculous gimmicks to attract fans that weren't interested in Indycar in the first place...

I'm of the opinion that Mark Miles isn't exactly a great CEO, but is smart enough of a businessman to know not to scare off potential sponsors by keeping politics and sport separate. That's all.

With that said, I LOVE Indycar's on-track action. I Always have; I (probably) always will.
 
Again, like I said earlier, front office just needs to get some bigger ****s and realize they're a major championship. Last thing holding it back.

That and treat races leading up to and after The Indy 500 with importance. Same goes for the broadcast crew as well (I wanted to strangle Eddie Cheever for referring tothe Season Opener as "Practice for The Greatest Spectacle in Racing" one year).

Same, although I would keep the Indy 500 on ABC to keep with media tradition as long as they get rid of Goodyear and Cheever and ditch the horrible 4:3 graphics. But those requests are like asking FOX to be a good sports broadcaster, something that will never happen.

Definitely hoping it's a hoax or prank or something, because basic logic says they should just stick with Filippi, who's at least capable of making a pass without taking the guy in front out of the race. The way I see it, Pastor's career as a driver should for all intents and purposes be over now, and he should go do something he's actually talented at, such as going back to Venezuela and putting up propaganda posters for his socialist friends at the government.

It doesn't say he'd be driving all of the road/street races though, which is probably to be expected with the team's recent confusing situation and possible money problems.
 
Well, that's what I get for not reading the article. Luca Filippi is with Dale Coyne Racing now. Newgarden is running the full season, Ed Carpenter is probably only running the Indy 500 due to sponsor/money issues with the team. They're fine without Maldonado joining.
