Danica owned everyone last night! She passed them high, she passed them low, she passed them in the pits and she shut everyone up the last two races! Come on DP, the second career victory is right around the corner!

Absolutely, Ian Poole. She seems to run very well at Texas. Maybe the long wait from the previous race and Indy gave her the courage to make something happen. Danica's performance last night is the reason why people love watching her. She doesn't pull of performances like this often, but man... isn't it sweet when she can make some great moves like that? I think Danica has reassured her fans (myself included) just how capable of winning she can be.

Up next in two weeks time, the short track that rides like a superspeedway- Iowa.

As one last piece of info, a temporary road course around Baltimore will be on the schedule for 2011. I heard it will involve parts of Camden Yards and maybe a few inner harbor roads.
Quoted for truth!;) Race Website

The race is to be heald in early-August next year. Chances are highly likely a anime convention I regularly go to will be moved to either mid-July or mid-August.

That's the Danica Patrick I know and love! She had a great chance to win the race, but Ryan Briscoe was just too much for her late. Congratulations to Ryan Briscoe on winning this race.

Well, everyone except Ryan Briscoe at the finish line.:O

By the way, since Ryan won the race, will they declare Texas Motor Speedway and the surrounding area to be renamed Briscoe County?:dopey:

EDIT: Whoops... they already have long before the race was run. Humor fail....:dunce:

My thoughts on the race.
- Good drive Danica! Wish you had won! But congrats to Ryan Briscoe and Team Penske.
- Andretti Autosport looks like they've regained their speed on ovals! Hope they can run Ryan Hunter-Reay for the rest of the season so he can go for the championship.
- KV Racing Technology seriously needs to fire Mario "Moronic" Moraes and replace him with Paul Tracy. Moronic Moraes has now added Helio Castroneves to his long list of drivers he has taken out in his past 2+ years of IndyCar racing.
- The IndyCar Safety Team seriously needs to conduct more fire drills and inspect their equipment. It shouldn't have taken that long to get Simona De Silvestro out of her burning car!

Got a bone to pick with the safety crew... how come they couldn't treat the fire first and THEN try to get Simona out of the car? I mean, Simona's car was barbecued about as badly as (not to mention another motorsport) the Michael Shank Racing Daytona Prototype at Watkins Glen. I would have extinguished the fire before trying to get Simona out of her burning car. Or at least, treat as much of the fire as possible so that Simona could safely exit her car than trying to get out quickly.

How would you grade the efforts to try to suppress the fire and take care of the situation?

OK, I'll admit that I am new to racing. Top Gear introduced me to high end cars, and I've developed a following. My dad got two tickets to the event, and since it's to the county north of us we decided to go.

First of all, there are horror stories about getting to Texas Motor Speedway on I-35, but we experienced little traffic. I assume during NASCAR season, it's really bad. They spread out the tickets so that it looked fuller, but I'd say it was at 2/5 to 1/2 full, taking the grandstands out of the equation.

My dad and I have never been, but it was well worth it. When the cars came out it was so-so, but when they reved up for the white flag, I nearly had an accident. It's amazing how much my heart raced as they were coming out. The whole race was exciting, and the fans were really behind Dario and Danica. The track was fun to go to, and there were a lot of ushers and workers that were ready to help you at a drop of the hat. I wasn't a fan before, but I really want to go back next year.

The only thing that bugged me was when Simona De Silvestro hit the wall. When she stopped, I thought the safety crew would be on it like a bear on honey. Instead, we were wondering if she was going to live at all. I don't expect them to get it all done in one second, but that burned for way to long. I'm glad that she's all right.

All in all, a great event, and I'm glad I went. I consider myself a novice fan now, and wanted to share the experience with this post (as well as all of my friends who want to join me next year).

7th on the grid for Takuma Sato! I don't have high hopes for him to finish there but it will be fantastic to see how far he gets at the very least. 👍

Still waiting for the race to start here in 'Holland', did the race got delayed? At the moment they are showing a replay from brazil race on 'carchannel'. 👎

This race started 15 minutes early because of the chance for rain.

Big downer for Sato. He was doing so well.

You IndyCar fans in the northeast will get some loving starting next year. Check it:

The Magic Mile is a boring place to me. I think if the IndyCar Series wanted to try a different northeastern venue, they could do Lime Rock Park. There are usually about 24 or 26 cars to a track at Lime Rock, so I don't think pits will be any kind of issue there. But, IndyCar to the Northeast next season at the New Hampshire International Speedway! Thoughts?

Agree with your thoughts on New Hampshire, being a NASCAR fan I've always wondered how NH gets 2 dates on the Sprint Cup calender, its one of the most boring tracks on the calender - it just seems to have no soul, no character. And it's not because it's flat - I dig Phoenix and Richmond as oval flat tracks.

What are the average amount of entries per normal Indycar race? I know the Indy 500 averages over 30, but normally its around 21-24?

Great to see Sato 5th and Adam Carroll debuting in 10th for tomorrow's race. 👍

If they are already doing this well, imagine what they can achieve (particularly Carroll) when they have settled into the series?
Hopefully Taku can keep it on the road this time. 👍

Why haven't they disqualified and banned Duno yet? She is so badly off the pace its not safe.

(with Hispanic accent)

Well maybe her father bribes the president with series of serioud cash bribes to make her very famous

Promising stuff again from Sato, shame about the bad pit stops. Also a good debut for Adam Carroll. 👍
