The guy who lead the race for at least 71 of the 100 laps won, go figure. They had real trouble with the new rule about full course yellows and bunching back up again. Everytime they passed the start and got the green again, between laps 12 and 18 upon entering turn 1 they had another accident and a full course yellow.

Good job by Dario Franchitti yesterday. Turn one caused alot of mayhem on a number of occasions, few title contenders got caught in the incidents. Driver of the day has to be Simona de Silvestro, she showed last year that she can compete in Indy Car, so a very good start to the season for her.

Big time respect to Simona di Silvestro at St. Petersburg (Florida, USA) this past Sunday. Like I said, she's going to be the next femme fatale in IndyCar once Danica goes full-time to NASCAR. Simona did an amazing job.

One oddity from the race was seeing Tony Kannan's new ride. I kept on getting confused as to if it's the new Team Lotus car, but that green and yellow/gold Geico car and the actual Team Lotus car are NOT one in the same. You always have to get used to new liveries when there are new racing seasons.

Especially considering that Simona De Silvestro had just gotten a new team engineer on the friday previous and that was her best finish ever. The real interesting bits will be the next couple of races to see if it wasn't a fluke.

Actually they are, Lotus Cars semi-own KV Racing as far as I understand it. So Kanaan's car is sponsored by Lotus too.
I won't start on the Lotus/Lotus debate here but to be picky, there is no "Team Lotus" in Indy at the moment, Lotus Cars however sponsor KV. A small difference in name, a big difference in meaning.

I thought the race was pretty good. I think they need to figure something about for the double file restarts, but when they worked they were quite exciting. And once Danica dropped out of the top 15, the commentary was even acceptable!

Congratulations to [the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama winner], but I want to give a shout out to Charlie Kimball- racing with Type 1 Diabetes, but still with the heart and desire to race. His enduring spirit to compete in a series like IndyCar is certainly worth respect.

I was at the race in Long Beach on Saturday. I saw the qualifying and then watched the ALMS race. I wore my Super Aguri F1 shirt but I never found Sato for an autograph.

Today was awsome...The Indy and the GT cars passed on Marginal at more than 300kph...

The day was good too, with clear sky...

Gonna put some videos on You Tube later on...

See ya!!

They did it! They have found someone worst to sing Brazil's National Anthem than Vanuza: Luan Santana...

Damn!

EDIT: First corner, four out.
EDIT2: Red flag. Too much rain
EDIT3: After two hours of red flag, the cars are back in the track
EDIT4: Oh, nevermind... Red flag again
EDIT5: After 4 hours of red flag, the race has been rescheduled for tomorrow. If I know São Paulo, this is going to 🤬 up even more the already 🤬 up traffic in the city.

It was bad with Luan Santana...

It was very bad today, I'm going tomorrow, hoping to see a good race...

The best thing of today was the "cacete" in the straight by Tony Kanaan...

Due to heavy rain, IndyCar was forced to postpone the Itaipava Sao Paulo Indy 300 until tomorrow at 8:00 AM EDT. Live coverage of the race also restarts tomorrow at 8:00 AM EDT on VERSUS!

And the fastest lap prize goes for:

Ha!

Just watched the highlights on the SPEED Report, just complete madness going on there. If I was a race manager I would've done something before the race to get my cars penalized and sent to the back of the grid and told them to just keep the cars straight and in one piece.

The fastest lap was from the 2011 Honda Civic Si (Last edition by the way, since they are going to stop making it...)

I'm liking the way the new cars looks, not sure of the new "bumper". overall you can see the Dallara influence form the monocoque to the nose and it looks similar to their GP2 car from a couple years, can't wait to see the prototype running in Aug.......

I strongly approve of the new design. It will make for significantly more contact with less danger of blown tires and deranged suspension leading to retirements.

I'll take some pics when I go to Bump Day guys on the 22nd. ;) :dopey: Randy
